It was a chilly day today.. and it almost seems like winter is heading our way.. even though it is only September. We were out in the mall getting some groceries.. and i was only wearing a light sweater. Many years ago.. you would see me wearing in layers .. of clothes.. but today.. the light sweater was alright .. and i didn’t feel a need for more. Things do change.. and even when i didn’t think i would get use to the cold.. well, guess what..?? i am getting used to it. But donch get me wrong.. because i still donch like the cold weather. But then and now.. yes.. things has changed.

I had PB’s tuxedo out for the hospital gala’s - a huge event here in our small town. As small business owners… and just about anyone living here, we feel that it is very important.. that we are involved in charitable work. But at the end of March.. yesterday ..we had snow on the ground.. !!!!!! *slap forehead* .. ! when is the warm coming..?? I promised myself to write this down.. so i know.. and wouldn’t hope too much for the sun.. and warm next year. The weather is crazy here.. one day warm.. and one day snow.. or raining. Suxs big time..!

I said many times.. and i’m saying it again — had i known that the weather here is so erratic .. i would never have come here at all. Yesterday we had freezing rain.. and today .. it was gusting winds.. up to 100km/hr .. and wind warnings. If you don’t know by now.. the cables for power and any kind of cables.. are all hanging up on poles .. like Singapore when we were in the 70s. Unlike Singapore’s government .. they didn’t advance at all.. and have them underground instead. So everytime, the weather turns bad.. i am fearful that we might lose heat and light. And no.. we do not have a wood furnace or a wood stove.. that i regret. If we are gonna continue living here.. i’m gonna have to consider putting one in .. which means.. another couple thousand of dollars… *sigh* ..!!! I HATE THE WEATHER HERE..!!! ok.. drama over.. move along now.

As you can see we ushered the new year with a white out here in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Everything and everywhere is on a standstill right now. As at 5.13pm.. we haven’t lost power yet. .and we are darn keeping our fingers .. and toes crossed.

We hear that it is gonna last for another day or two. Bummer…!!! Before Chloe was born.. we have had such weather before but i think that was in February. We really didn’t expect it to be this bad.. because every year we escaped it.. but i guess we can’t be that lucky every year eh. Visibility is zero right now.. and we have been stuck in the house since yesterday evening.. and crashing at Phil’s place.. or ppl dropping in last nite.. did not happen.. as you can imagine why.

We were hit by a wind storm on Monday at 1.30am.. and lost complete power. In fact, I think the whole of Nova Scotia lost their power in this terrible storm. In all my years in Canada.. this was the worst that I’ve come across. We lost some shingles on the roof, our satellite dish and some sidings but we are safe, so that’s the most important.

We crashed at a friend’s house.. and they were wonderful ! they fed us and kept us warm and offered us a place to sleep in, if the power didn’t come back on in the nite. I told PB that years of investing in this friendship finally paid off… muahahahahah!!! We are expecting more snow tomorrow.. although things cleared up today. So if you don’t see me online, do have a blessed Christmas…!

A storm is heading towards the Maritime.. and i know that many parts of Canada.. is already experiencing it as I type. I wished that everyone stay safe .. and even though we are open today for business, we still headed out to stock up .. in case we get snow in. Water, can food.. and portable heat run by propane, plus lots of candles.. to last us for 24hrs. When you are living in Canada, you learn to be prepared for the worst.. and hope for the best. We’ve always been lucky.. but you can’t be lucky all the time right..??

Yes..! and that means.. it is heading towards us. 5 yrs ago.. we had Hurricane Juan that hit Halifax really hard.. but it missed us.. so we were quite safe here in Y-Town. Usually if anything were to happen with the weather.. we don’t get hit as hard as Halifax does. But that does not mean that we ain’t gonna be prepared for it though. So today.. we will be heading out to get groceries .. that we usually leave till Sunday to do. If you don’t see me online it means.. we either lost power.. or Aliant just suxs.. big time.. !

Chloe still does her own language thingie. It is almost funny to see her talk to herself.. in her own language. I have yet to catch her on video.. because she stops.. whenever i try to whip out a camera. Does your kid speak in a funny tongue that you don’t understand..?? I teased her all the time.. about her speaking in tongues.

For those who sees pictures of sunny weather .. in some of my pictures.. i just want you not to think that it is already warm here. Far from it in fact. Although the sun may be out.. and it does look sunny and warm.. the winds are very chilly .. and one cannot even go out in the open.. without being all dressed up in warm clothings.. yet cannot stay out too long. It does suxs .. big time..! I do missed the weather back home.

Yes.. this is the famous Yarmouth Fog. Even during the summer.. we get alot of fog .. making visibility really bad. Quite used to it by now.. but still donch like it at all. We have many days like this here.. and very lil’ days.. where we can go out in the backyard.. and enjoy the golf course.

This is right in front of our house.. at about 6pm yesterday. And you think summer was just round the corner. Living in Y-Town.. doesn’t surprised us.. when the weather turns this way.

I donch know if you are aware of this. .but where I am living.. in Nova Scotia.. we are surrounded by the Ocean .. and when one sees the seagulls coming back… it can only mean one thing to me… !! the warm weather is gonna be here really soon. This is the first of the seagulls i’ve seen this month. During the summer.. we see flocks of them… all over town.. because just behind our store..is the ocean. Awesome..!

Happy Spring Day .. Everyone..!! it’s unbelieveably hot at 18 degree celcius out here.. in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. If this is any indication of summer.. which i donch think we are so lucky.. we might just have a better summer this year. I can’t wait for Misha’s Cafe to be opened.. !! they are my only hope .. to good food around here.. and at best prices.

Do you know who is the happiest when the weather turns good..?? Not only me.. of course..! in fact the brat was so happy yesterday.. guess what she said to us outta the blue moon.. and then continued to grammie and grampie.. and then the neighbours. She said to everyone .. “Happy Spring Day..!” “Happy Spring Day..!” And swear we didn’t teach her ..! she just came up with it… muahahahha!!

It had been so windy out today.. the wind is so strong.. i think we might just lose power soon. It is officially spring.. but we never saw spring at all. I just hope it wouldn’t be like last year.. where we had a really late summer.. and never even saw spring. Now that would sux big time.

We had a really good ride up to the city.. the roads were good .. and the sun was out. Uneventful.. but poor PB was really tired.. because the brat refuses to sleep the whole nite again.. but instead woke up a few times.. the nite before. She was ok.. overall during the ride.. but was quite loud and noisy at times. But we arrived safely .. and the brat is just thrilled to be in the hotel.

The difference between staying in Canada.. and Asia.. is the weather. Getting stuck in the house .. the whole day.. because of the cold weather.. can drive one really crazy. This is the reason why.. i try my best to bring the brat to the store for a couple of hours.. if it isn’t that crazy out there. Afterall, she is a kid. and she does need a breather right..?? to run around.. and do stuff.. like interaction with real ppl.. not just her crazy chinese mummy.

Yes.. it was Ground Hog Day yesterday.. and also my FIL’s birthday.. !! Unfortunately, this year we were so busy.. we couldn’t go out to celebrate with him. But we made sure Chloe called first thing in the morning.. and sing Grampie a birthday song.

So what can we expect this year.. from the 3 Groundhogs said..? An early Canadian spring… so we all hoped. One can alway be hopeful eh..?? According to Paul.. our oil man.. he said. .come Valentine’s Day.. if we still didn’t have anything.. winter is over.. muahahahha!! Lets hope.. and keep our fingers crossed.

A few days ago .. it was snowing hard since midnite… And it was - 22 degree celcius then, but guess what..?? the school was opened..!!! yup..!! crazy schools in the county.. only closes.. when it doesn’t snow.. and when.. it’s blowing like crazy.. and the schools are up and running. How crazy is that..! The town is crazy.. and run by crazy ppl.

Keegan is sick again.. so poor chloe will not have a babysitter for a few days again. A week ago, she came down with a flu.. i guess it had to do with the current weather. I hope she doesn’t pass anything to her mom.. because she is going into surgery this week. Speedy recovery Kate..!

Yes.. it was almost spring weather today.. and a good thing too.. because this darn furnace.. didn’t wanna work properly.. and it’s a good thing that we have 3 extra heaters.. running on electricity.. in case something like that happened again .. in the store. With the almost spring weather like today.. we didn’t feel cold.. but i knew something wasn’t right.. although .. PB only discovered it at almost 5pm. JOY..!!
