Winter Wheels & Tires

Filed under: The Other Half, Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 5:03 pm

For someone who comes from a place that is summer everyday, jumping to 6 months of winter in Nova Scotia can be kinda hard to adjust to. With everything else we already need to do, including making sure that our winter wheels and tires. Given the road conditions here, we need to make sure that our tires are good every year. We try not to be cheap on the tires nor the wheels but you and I know that with the winter and power plus oil bills, you have to get the best price for both the tires and wheels whenever possible.

C0ming highly recommended was Wheelfire, they have many wheel and tire packages at discount prices, even custom wheels. Now that would be something to look at for those car lovers like someone I know from town, or actually half the town to be exact. Bringing you the latest in tire and wheel trends at prices you can afford. You are probably wondering about getting the right fit for your car, just like I was when shopping online for them, and I’m pleased to let you know that they have a fitment program that ensures that your car is properly fitted. Ordering is easy, shipping is also quick and they have tech support to answer any of your questions.

Wheelfire carries the wheels and tires in stock and you never have to wait for their orders to come in before they are delivered since they have their own warehouse. Being a member of the BBB (Better Business Bureau), you can check their outstanding record since opening. I asked the spouse about ordering online and he is comfortable with it, so we are all set.

An Acura For A Second Car

Filed under: Amusing/Musing, The Other Half, Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 5:03 pm

By now you all know I have been actively looking for a second car for our household since our lil’ brat is in school and it sorta sux not to be able to pick her up from school since we only have one car and I can’t drive a standard. I see a need for a second car because it would make it so convenient instead of depending on PB to close the store and send us home each evening at 5pm. Plus as the kid grows older I’m sure she would have other activities like swimming, ballet and other extra-curricular events she would want to attend. Currently we have the babysitter to help out in case of emergencies but when she goes to college next year then we will be quite handicapped.

The car connection gave a detailed review of the Acura from information gathered from other reviews. With this combined information by testing the cars for themselves, they presented their own findings. They listed their likes and dislikes and what they ultimately think of the car. Of course they also include photo galleries to let you view the car first hand. You should probably also check out the unbiased reviews from the consumers on various makes of cars. And when you are ready, you can arrange for a test drive or get a quote online as well. Compare your local price quotes and get the best price without having to run around. No stress, no fuss.. just the way I like it.

Cadillac Pt 2

Filed under: Amusing/Musing, Motor, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 2:37 pm

A month ago I wrote about how the Cadillac reminds me of my grampie’s car and I remembered how much he used to praise his Caddy and boast that it was the most reliable car he ever owned. And since I’ve got to get a 2nd car because the kid is in school now and it’s better for me to drive her to school instead of getting PB to do it.. for sometimes it can get busy at the store, we decided to take a peek at what models the Cadillacs can offer me today. I have to say I was quite impressed with used Cadillacs Harrisburg PA, the car models included the DeVille, DTS, Escalade, CTS, STS, SRX, XLR and others.

But I’m fussy and I’m looking for a special type of car that doesn’t need a lot of gas, is good on mileage and is affordable. And what I hate most about going to look for a car is when the sales person talks down to you or makes you feel like you don’t know a thing about cars. For those staying around the Harrisburg, PA area you are lucky because the sales people there are experienced and will never make you feel small. You’ll be completely satisfied and informed about your car. And if you are anything like me, we like to go to the people who treats us well.

Right Dealer For Right Car

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 10:47 pm

I’ve always believed that the person who sells us anything, the sales rep and the company combined, plays a very important part in what we are buying or whether the deal will be sealed. Be it a piece of cake or piece of furniture, or of course your car, you want to know that they will stand behind their product and will help you if you encounter any problems.

I hear that your friendly Nissan Dealer MA is the kind of dealer that I would buy my second car from. They have been in this business for a long time, since 1933 in fact, and are committed to providing you value for money along with affordable, no hassle financing for your used and new cars. With a great selection of used Nissan cars, trucks and SUVs I’m sure you and I can find something that could fit our budgets. This Framingham Nissan dealership is a straightforward and no gimmick kind of dealership that is good to deal with, look at their no nonsense yet hilarious video clip on their website to see what I mean. I bet they have nice people who can make a deal with you today.

If you live anywhere near Natick, Malboro, Milford, Needham, Wellesley, MA and are looking for a used or new car, don’t forget to drop by the Framingham Nissan Dealership first. I love their mission statement! I try and use it all the time at our store too, kinda copycat but what can I do when I want to be the best in what I do eh?

Subaru, An Old Friend

Filed under: The Other Half, Motor, Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 8:04 pm

Subaru is an old friend. The ones I grew up with were very small and squarish. When anyone talked about a Subaru car three things came to mind - small, Japanese and affordable. But that’s not always the case anymore, in fact the new Subaru DC shop has models that cater to just about anyone from all walks of life. Whether you are a sporty type, a housewife ferrying your kids to school or just someone who needs to get to work and back, they have a model to fit your needs.

I’m sure you know that your Subaru cars are manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan and if you are in the Washington, DC area, you are in luck because any Subaru Vehicle model you need can be found at FitzWay. In most cases at a discounted price too. There will be absolutely no need for any haggling because every vehicle is already discounted.

And you are always welcome to go test drive, compare prices and talk freely to the friendly and knowledgeable sales representatives without any obligation or pressure to buy. The new Subaru Legacy has never looked better. The new Subaru can be bought and viewed at White Flint Subaru in Rockville or at Gaithersburg Subaru.

Changing Cars

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 10:20 pm

Changing cars every other year is quite the norm in this part of the world. Even my babysitter has her own car.. it was a hands me down.. but it’s great that she is able to drive around on her own.. and used the car to go to school.

Lucky for her .. she doesn’t have to pay for the car.. because it was once upon a time her brother’s but her classmates who wants to drive would have to get their own car loan and insurance. Eyeing on a used car austin, she may trade in hers for a new used car, when she starts going to college next year. And for students like her .. Quality Auto not only take your old car for trade in but also help you get a loan really quick. Awesome for kids like my babysitter .. that’s for sure.

Auto Recycling

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 8:12 pm

My brother-in-law, Richard would be really pleased to know that there is a used auto parts online place for him to purchase his auto parts. Knowing he loves fixing up his cars, trucks and whatever else that moves, midwest auto recycling may just be the place he can find the parts he needed for some of his repair work.

Specializing in used engines and transmission, they also warranty and test them before sale. So not only do we not have to worry about buying a not working part but one can be safely say that everything is cleaned and inspected.

Toyota Radiator

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 8:01 pm

I don’t know about other woman out there but I’m always afraid when my car breaks down no matter what is wrong with it. The anticipation of paying premium dollars and at the mercy of the garage can be very stressful.

Plus finding the right parts is also important for me, like the time i needed a Toyota Radiator and was told that if i wanted to buy an original, I would not only have to wait but pay premium dollars for it. If you are like me and not wanting to take the chance of another break-down, or flagging for cars in the middle of nowhere, you might want to try Radiator.com. With more than 100 nationwide locations service, I’m sure you will find one conveniently.

Men & Their Toys

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 7:47 pm

Unlike back home in Asia, cars are relatively cheaper here, everyone has a car here and everyone that i know .. love to work on their car.. whenever they are free. They upgrade so often.. that often times their girlfriend or their wives would threatened to destroy their cars/trucks .. if they spent any more on it. Just the other day.. my cousin’s wife was complaining about the tires, brakes and the Corvette suspension that her husband just bought to do work on his car this spring. Men and their toys..!

Radiator King

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 5:56 pm

A well deserved name if you are ever on its website. You can see just about any radiator that you need. My grandmother used to say, that “you pay for what you get” and in all honestly, what she said was of absolute truth. Sure one can get generic radiators for your car, but you know.. when you pay so much for your car.. and it is used to bring you from Point A to Point B safely, you really want to use stuff that is of decent quality.

Buying original parts and equipments guarantees you a no hassle lifetime warranty on parts and labor. So if you own a Honda Civic and needed a Civic Radiator, you can be redirected to a distributor instead of a retail store, where they need to charge higher for a middleman fee. Or if you don’t know how to put a radiator in, they can recommend a certified installation center to you. Radiator King is your one-stop shopping place for all your radiator needs.

Truck Accessories

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 4:52 pm

The men here are very much into their trucks and their accessories. You should see how much they spend on showing off their trucks. No.. i don’t think it is a bad thing.. for it really isn’t a unhealthy habit.. to keep improving on their pride and joy. The funny thing is .. back home in Singapore .. a truck is considered for those who don’t have money.. and for working purpose only. But here in Canada .. a truck is what most “rich” fishermen have.. well .. most likely they need it to haul their lobster pots.

Zenon lights for their trucks is a must because they are really. Look at how stylish the Hella Rallye 3000 Blue Lamps are. No wonder the guys here goes ga-ga over them. Not only does it increase visibility, it sure did make the truck look alot more stylish.. for them to show off.

Limo Services In SF

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101, Vacations/Travel - Mama BoK @ 11:21 pm

Having worked in the hotel industry for 15yrs, it is very important to get the right car services for your incoming guest/s. There are alot of companies out there that provide this kind of service but as a hotel, you know that you have to find a limo that is reliable and not just have a few limo or limo drivers on standby.

Hotel guests can come in anytime of the day, flights runs 24hrs a day, and in a hotel like the one i was working for, definitely had more than just one guest wanting limo services. Contracting the right company with the right limo rates was important to us too. Afterall, you do not want to overcharge your guest/s, since they will be billed for it with their room rates.

The success of our business at the Front Desk/Concierge depends alot on the first impression we give to our guest/s of the hotel. This limo company represents the hotel or whichever company that hires them on. Different level of transportation services is very important to us, and the limo company needs to be flexible enough to be able to not only do airport transfer, but to be able to do hourly services, for business meetings, or entertaining the guest/s and of course their wives and children needs to be chauffeured around for shopping and sightseeing.

I’m just touching the very basic need of what the hotel or a company would need for limo services, therefore, when one look for this service, you’ll have to consider all. SF limo provides all the above and more, and don’t forget the corporate discount that you will get when you use them. They are simply the best limo and car services in Bay Area. Guarantees you and your company with superior service, highly efficient and competitive rates for any transfer or use of their cars/limo. When you use SF Limo, you can be assured that your guest/s will arrive safely. They are dependable, reliable and definitely professional, even your guest/s will like them.

Celebrating 90yrs of Driving

Filed under: Uncategorized, Motor, Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 8:54 pm

The father-in-law does lots of logging during the winter and because of that he needs a good pick up truck. But the brother-in-law who is much younger is very much into style and wants not only a good pick up truck but also a stylist one, so that when he isn’t working in the woods, he can cruise in it and look for girlfriends and of course to show of too.

The father-in-law never knew that Isuzu have crew cab that would meet and satisfy both his and the brother-in-law needs, for he thinks that Isuzu is associated with Japanese cars and Japanese cars are usually small and compact. Little did he know that they even have extended cab. Shocked the least to say but it made the brother-in-law pretty happy.

With savings of over $4,000, an extended cab can be made affordable starting at $18,017. Not only is the cab heavy duty, it has a workmanlike ratio of cargo bed capacity to passenger room. Delivering the logs and still have room for 5 adult passenger. Definitely worth celebrating..! A truck of choice.

Racing For A Hobby

Filed under: Uncategorized, Motor - Mama BoK @ 12:31 pm

PB’s cousin, Mel is into car racing for a few years now. And she has been racing in Lake Doucette out in Chattanooga for a few years now.. and she won some prizes. I’ll have to say she is one cool chick, knowing all about lowering the car’s center of gravity with a mustang suspension, to give her more balance when she is racing. All her car services are done excellently. I know she really enjoys her racing and if you ever met her, you’ll never know she is into such a thrilling and exhilarating sport.
