Tomorrow Is A Big Day

Filed under: Brat Stuff, Amusing/Musing, The Other Half, This Town - Mama BoK @ 2:16 pm

Tomorrow is a BIG day for us..!! it marks another milestone for us .. and for the brat too. Chloe goes to “Ready, Set, Go” program.. that gets her ready for school this fall. She will be in school from tomorrow till Friday.

I think i am more excited than she is.. or should i say worried. Today .. we went thru’ the routine.. of bringing her to school.. and explaining to her what will go on.. and helping her understand.. what she has gotta do for lunch and her break. I’m a wee bit breathless.. just thinking about it. I think i’m gonna be the one who will be having separation issues tomorrow. Any wise and experienced mom out there..?? care to give me a tip or two..??

  1. During the first day, most parents will stick around. For us, we just drop her off and call the daycare/school around noon to check on them.

  3. WHAT????? She’s going to KG already? where has the time gone. I’m hyperventilating just thinking about it!!!!

Ummm.. bring some tissues for yourself (incase YOU tear up :) Other than that, give her a big hug and tell her she’ll have fun and that mommy will be waiting outside for you when you’re done!

  4. let her go in yr heart. she’ll be more at peace venturing out into new horizons. Kids can feel our anxiety and they catch it as well. Enjoy!

  5. i went through this anxiety with both my girls! the elder one, i was really crying in my heart.. she cried for few days. but i let her bring along a favourite toy - Barney soft toy. She did cry, occasionally but she’ll be fine after a while. the teachers will know how to distract kids. kids are smart, when you are there, they will cry very loud but when you are away, they learn to be independant fast.

  7. i felt the same thing when i first sent my kids to school, i think that is normal. Chloe would do well on her first day, she is very independent, and she is at an age that she’d welcome school.
