Are You A Bad Mom ..?

I read from another blogging mom’s blog questioning herself if she was a bad mom.. for being on the computer for the whole day… and not playing with her daughter… because the need of her earning the extra money.. because her husband isn’t working. If that at this point of time, would someone say that she was an “awesome mom” or “did a great job with her daughter”. I am sure alot of mummies out there asked themselves this question all the time. And seeing some that churned out plenty of work each day.. means that alot of time is taken away from the kids.

Spending time on the computer .. trying to put food on the table for the family, doesn’t make you a bad mom. But life is short.. and one has gotta learn to prioritize and once you know how to do that.. you’ll be fine. Now you would be a bad mom.. if you were on the computer all day.. neglecting your child.. and cheating the system.. and trying to make a few more bucks that don’t belong to you. Now that would make you a bad mom! There is absolutely nothing wrong in working hard the whole day.. but when you lie and cheat thinking that no one saw you .. well.. you know you are not a good mom at all. How would you face your kid..?? I wouldn’t be proud.. would you..?? Are you a good mom..??

If i ever was in a witness protection program.. where would I want to relocate..?? I probably want to choose a place where I can blend in with the same kind of people like me. Being Asian.. i think i’ll choose New York China town.. where I won’t be a sore eye. I don’t know if i would survive the program.. because you have to do away with just about everyone .. not contact your loved ones.. and friends.

I can’t wait to watch the new tv series on the 1st June, USA Network’s new original series In Plain Sight. Mary McCommack plays Mary Shannon, a US Marshal who helps these people relocate and settle in. While her friends thinks that she is working as a high class courier, this tv series is said to be full of action .. thrilling and witty. Don’t forget to check it out.

All Mums Should Learn To Take A Nap

Filed under: Health, Brat Stuff, Amusing/Musing - Mama BoK @ 1:09 am

Yes… ! i didn’t think i can do it.. because like all moms.. around the world.. you wanna get as much done as possible. But let me tell you .. it is a very good practice . .to be able to nap.. even if it was an hour. I took the opportunity to nap.. when our babysitter .. keegan was in… and even though i was tossing alot.. i still got some rest.. and feel alot better.

In my case.. as you all know the brat wakes up at all hours of the night. PB and I hardly get 8hrs.. and if we did get 6 .. we would be very happy. So yes, new mothers, old mothers.. to be mothers.. or not even mothers.. should learn how to nap. even if it was an hour.. it does the body good.

Savings Account

Filed under: Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 12:54 am

We started having a savings account for our daughter just after she turned one. Afterall, she does get a check from the government till she is 16 yrs old.. and to use it . .it would not be right. We feel that doing it now.. when she is young, it would only means that she gets a head start for her college or university.. or when she decides to travel the world.. before she starts working. We all have big hopes for our children.. i am sure.

We are currently looking into online savings for her because we are always busy at work and sometimes the cheques sit in our home for a few weeks before it gets into her bank. But with online banking, we can just transfer it from our own to hers.. without any delay. Plus when she is older, it is going to be a breeze for her too. There are many benefits to using an online savings account, not only does it saves time, it saves money and effort too. No more queuing . . and no more having to worry about bad weather.

When you maintain a minimum balance of $300, you will never be charged a service charge but even if you are it’s only $4. You get to do all your transactions online and get your electronic statement for free. And when the kid is older and needs a checking account, she can easily link her online savings account to a WaMu checking account. If you are thinking of a savings account for your children, why not check WaMu out.
