Here we see Keegan and her pierced nose. I was freaking out .. when she showed me the nose piercing.. but she said.. it didn’t hurt. See lah..!! this gal..!! so pretty .. yet.. she don’t know how pretty she is. Any asian girls out there.. would die for her features.. yet she wants to pierce her nose..!! Aiyoh..!!! just because her friends did it too.

I read from another blogging mom’s blog questioning herself if she was a bad mom.. for being on the computer for the whole day… and not playing with her daughter… because the need of her earning the extra money.. because her husband isn’t working. If that at this point of time, would someone say that she was an “awesome mom” or “did a great job with her daughter”. I am sure alot of mummies out there asked themselves this question all the time. And seeing some that churned out plenty of work each day.. means that alot of time is taken away from the kids.

Spending time on the computer .. trying to put food on the table for the family, doesn’t make you a bad mom. But life is short.. and one has gotta learn to prioritize and once you know how to do that.. you’ll be fine. Now you would be a bad mom.. if you were on the computer all day.. neglecting your child.. and cheating the system.. and trying to make a few more bucks that don’t belong to you. Now that would make you a bad mom! There is absolutely nothing wrong in working hard the whole day.. but when you lie and cheat thinking that no one saw you .. well.. you know you are not a good mom at all. How would you face your kid..?? I wouldn’t be proud.. would you..?? Are you a good mom..??

Yes… ! i didn’t think i can do it.. because like all moms.. around the world.. you wanna get as much done as possible. But let me tell you .. it is a very good practice . .to be able to nap.. even if it was an hour. I took the opportunity to nap.. when our babysitter .. keegan was in… and even though i was tossing alot.. i still got some rest.. and feel alot better.

In my case.. as you all know the brat wakes up at all hours of the night. PB and I hardly get 8hrs.. and if we did get 6 .. we would be very happy. So yes, new mothers, old mothers.. to be mothers.. or not even mothers.. should learn how to nap. even if it was an hour.. it does the body good.

We started having a savings account for our daughter just after she turned one. Afterall, she does get a check from the government till she is 16 yrs old.. and to use it . .it would not be right. We feel that doing it now.. when she is young, it would only means that she gets a head start for her college or university.. or when she decides to travel the world.. before she starts working. We all have big hopes for our children.. i am sure.

PB had a cousin who had her wedding planned Mexico and although it was a very small wedding, it was wonderful. I chose to remain only as friends.. because even though he was established.. had 2 houses in Memphis, Tennessee, I cannot see a future with him. We have been trying to get ahold of the Parent’s Place for registering the brat into the “ready, get set, go” program. We’ve to put Chloe into this program to prepare her for school.. and come June she is going for orientation the whole day with her new school.

I’ve mixed feelings… and would really wished someone from Parent’s place would call us back not only because of registering the brat.. but because we wished to see how we can help.

We planned to go for a family vacation every year but it doesn’t always come true for us. Sad but it’s true.. we have other commitments like running our own business.

Gary our friend/customer was in today. Even though he is still not feeling his best.. he would still come visit Chloe.. every now and then. No wonder .. Chloe loves Gary alot. This is not targeted to just the Filipinas .. but seeing a cousin advertising for her younger cousin of 20 yrs of age, sorta irks me. Maybe it’s the way it was worded..?? maybe because she is a beautiful young lady, maybe because I’m someone who marry a “white”. But life is hard in a foreign country. I cannot speak for others.. but i sure miss home like hell. In retrospect, I am very lucky and blessed to have met a good man.. who didn’t beat me up.. or grope me in public.. or swear at me.. or who is a drinker.. nor a gambler.. or someone who expects me to have a kid every year so we can all collect welfare. Basically, I didn’t get a monster for a spouse but what about those who “might” not meet the right guy ..??

A used Rock Band came in for the xbox 360 and of course the brat had to play with it.. and since Keegan is good with “tar” .. so keegan needed to play too. Look how intense she was..!! and she did pretty good too.. when playing. I took a video of her.. to show her when she is older. But till now . .besides the banging on our keyboard - an electronic piano.. she didn’t show very much interest in learning a musical instrument. Oh .. but she did wanna play with Keegan’s guitar.

We are in the market to get some patio furniture.. and as you can see.. who the tester is.. and liking it alot. She even had everything arranged nicely.. and laid on the outdoor set.. as if she was taking a nap on it. And promptly said goodbye to the patio furniture as we were going towards the car.

I’ve noticed a huge community of Filipino’s ladies marrying the American or Canadian men and i read in one blog about how this nice Filipino woman was looking to introduce to her cousin a good man from the West. I’m sure her intentions are good .. and everything nice.. but I’ve also seen some who are married to alot older man than they themselves are.

I do wonder many a times.. if it was really for love..?? or a passport outta poverty…?? I, myself am married to a white man.. and I’m very sure.. that most Asians agree with me.. that it is not a bed of roses.. nor paradise on earth. I know when PB and I got together.. the white women here.. weren’t too pleased.. because I snagged one of the eligible bachelor in town. Some were quite hostile too. On top of all .. the weather.. is harsh every year on me… and i resent Winter time.. in fact i hate it with a passion.

Shouldn’t one marry for love.. and not for looks.. and educational background.. or financial background..?? Is a union so filmsy.. that you just jump onto the bandwagon .. at the first sight of a white man..?? Is there really true love..?? i see some really odd couples on the net.. and I do wonder. Maybe someone can enlighten me.. from the Filipino community..?? I have a real life example in PB’s family. But that would be another story for another day.

It is things like these that drives me nuts..!! and it gets me all fumed up.. and wanting to shake some ppl up. Parents Place in Y-Town.. is a place where they have programs to prepare our kids for school this coming fall, and because of the short of funding. .instead of 2 weeks.. of this program. .they are cutting it back to one.

On top of it, this year.. there will be a surge of students entering Grade Primary because of the new rule that children turning 5 by 31 December 2008, is allowed to enter school this fall. With the lack of funding, that would mean that there will be less teachers and more children in each class.

Yet.. the town can spend millions of dollars for different things that ain’t important..!! where’s the help.. these ppl should be getting..?? what about my kid..?? the welfare of my kid..??? It is infuriating.. and disappointing. Parents Place is a non-profit organization .. a place where our children, our future .. is being looked after.. and trained.. and helped. I hope against all hope .. that parents who will have children attending school for the first time this fall, will come forward to help. I am .. are you ..??

The first thing I want to do after my operation and of course recovery time, I want to put on some sexy swimwear that i haven’t been able to for the last few years because I have an ugly look fat tummy..!! yes.. the uterus is pretty high.. and if you see me now.. you would think i am pregnant all over again..! even my father in law said the same thing.. a few months ago.. muahahha!! so embarrassing hor..??!!!??

Does your man know what you have to go thru’ when you go for your Pap Smear…?? why do woman like me hate to do our yearly pap smear.. but must do it .. because it is like “required” by the health law book.

Then the man asked how come I don’t do my Pap smear .. instead of telling the gynae otherwise..?? It was because i didn’t get to shower before going to the doc’s office. So you all tell me lah.. would you take a pap smear.. ?? if you didn’t shower..?? Honestly..?? i can’t do it..!! can you …??

I love my kitchen alot and that’s because I spend alot of time in it cooking up home cook food for my brat. I really try to make her 3 solid meals from home.. and even though i bring her to work with me, food is packed. I’m so proud of my kitchen because even the kichen cabinet knobs are specially ordered to blend with the rest of the house. PB said i am kitchen crazy .. but can you blame me.. when i had a state of the art kitchen back home..?? How many of you .. go kitchen crazy like me..?? and buy all sorts of knick knacks.. to make a theme outta your kitchen.

Just a quick update to let everyone know that I’ve seen “God” - the gynae and after a good long talk .. I have decided the best way to treat my fibroids is to remove it. An operation will be scheduled shortly and I shall update everyone as soon as i get the date. I’m preparing for my stay in the hospital and one of the things that I told PB i must have is a laptop when I stay in the hospital .. or if they don’t have internet connection, I need to bring the portable dvd that we have in the store else I would really be bored.

We really lucked in on Chloe in alot of things. For example here.. taking her medication. You see ..she gives us no trouble.. taking her medication, i have seen some kids puke and scream .. and cry.. and throw tantrums.. because of taking medication.. but not this brat.. she would even squeezed them outta the syringe.. and feed herself. Awesome kid..!

If you think that woman folks are the only one suffering from hair loss and they are embarrassed by it.. well you are wrong. Like my neighbour said, you have so much money one day from sales.. but you also gotta spend that much on taxes and payroll. Those who knows us, knows that we have always been looking out at getting new curtains for the entire house. For 3 yrs in this new home of ours, we finally did get some for 2 rooms, one for the living room.. and one for the tv room. . and we only bought them because they were at half price. Yes.. ! you heard me right..! i never buy anything .. unless they are at 50% discount. El cheapo..?? yes..!

We won’t buy flowers on occasions like this .. because they are way too expensive. So the mother-in-law allowed the brat to pick some flowers for me.. just before we left for home. But she needs 2 of course.. instead of just one.. because one is for herself… muahahahah!!

She didn’t know how to break the tulips.. so grampie came over to help her pick two of them.

Decorating and furnishing the house is what we woman do best. We are always up to something, and by simply changing the window blinds or curtains one can make a room look completely different and set an entirely different ambiance to fit your needs. Oh well..! at least i get to see him .. and i expect .. i’ll have to wait for an hour or two maybe.. to REALLY get to see him. Wish me luck.. my “GOD” is my gynecologist. Yes.. it is harder to get an appointment to see my gynae than to really see God himself.

I’m sure you all know that i love to decorate my house .. and am trying to make it look presentable.. that way I can entertain friends and family. Summer is the best time.. i think to do BBQs.. and I really want a family gathering. We were quite undecided whether to stick to blinds
or curtains for our windows.. because the curtains sold here didn’t have the right sizes we want. To specially order them would cost us a small fortune. In the end we decided to only dress one room at the time. What about you ..?? you have blinds or curtains..??

Yes.. this is the famous Yarmouth Fog. Even during the summer.. we get alot of fog .. making visibility really bad. Quite used to it by now.. but still donch like it at all. We have many days like this here.. and very lil’ days.. where we can go out in the backyard.. and enjoy the golf course.

This is right in front of our house.. at about 6pm yesterday. And you think summer was just round the corner. Living in Y-Town.. doesn’t surprised us.. when the weather turns this way.

Whenever I am home alone with Chloe and start cooking for her dinner.. she would asked to help me cut the corns. Most of her meals has got corn in it.. because she loves it. Of course i would say “no” in which her reply was . .that Keegan would let her cut the corn up. I didn’t think too, too much of it.. thinking that Keegan must have given her something plastic to play with.. to cut the corn up.

Guess i was wrong.. and wasn’t paying too, too much attention to what the brat had to say. See.. she was really cutting up some corns.. with a butter knife. And Keegan was watching over her. And the brat was very serious about doing her job right too.

And doing a darn good job too..!

The Malaysian Bloggers are making such an impact in Malaysia.. that I am in awe of them. Bloggers in Malaysia are passionate.. about a cause. Be it political or for food .. or just covering events .. or stating their claim in a particular part of their life, they are doing it at full force. No .. we don’t really see such fervent enthusiasm here, in fact when i was asking an owner in town to do an article about his store for my traveling blog, he had asked the man.. what a blog is.

There are a few younger people i know that has a blog but they are not doing anything the way the Malaysian bloggers are doing or anywheres near it. I do feel a tinge of sadness .. when i do get to talk to them, for most keep a blog to show their partying weekends.. and how they managed to knock themselves out in the toilet bowl. What is the mentality of the bloggers here and the mentality in Malaysia/Asia…?? is it because in Asia.. we have to fight for everything . .and here we donch have to..??? because it’s laid out in a serving plate for those who wants to take it..?? Can I make a difference..?? me one person .. ?? We need more Malaysians here.. !!

Paris is the most romantic place one can go for a vacation. My in-laws are very outdoorsy people .. and so is Richard my brother-in-law.. but PB and I donch get to do alot of outdoor stuff.. because we have a business to look after (that’s our excuse .. and we are sticking by it). Although we are not the outdoorsy type.. we hope to let Chloe try everything we can get her to. But chloe being chloe.. she is afraid of everything.. and wouldn’t even go into the canoe. .even though it wasn’t in the water during the weekend.

After much cajoling.. she agreed to go in .. sitting on Papa’s lap. What wuss..! muahhaha!!

Living in a small town like here and owning a business.. you kind of get to know just about everybody in town. We don’t have very many big offices in town.. nor huge corporation or even representative offices here. We do have a call center here that had been doing great stuff for the people in this town, like opening jobs in various department and different areas.

Some gets hired on . .and some don’t. The reasons are pretty obvious… yet they don’t really know. You see in any interview.. the first impression counts .. and as far as I can see it.. some younger people just don’t know how to boost their image .. nor sell themselves. When I do get a customer who comes in dejected and wonder why he didn’t get the job when he was more qualified, I asked him to try a simple make-over, like taking care of one’s body ordour and skin care regiment that can make one look alot more presentable.

You know in the beginning of a new relationship.. we snuggle up with our ex-b/fs .. or ex-husband.. or the present one.. so tightly .. and cannot let go. Sleep also must hold hands type..?? You remember those days..?? And after many years.. if one has got no kids.. still snuggle abit lah.. !! but once we have kids.. aiyoh..!! cannot wait to go to bed.. and snore quickly.

Now donch you think “ang mohs” are any different ok..!!! what you see on movies. .and tvs.. are not exactly true lah..! maybe there are couples who are loving and snuggly still after having a few kids.. but how many can say.. they are still feeling the same when they first met their spouse..?? Honestly you tell me.. and share notes ??

Good in-laws are very important to your relationship to your other half. Why do i say that..?? because all women loves to complain. Now.. now..! donch tell me you donch..! I complained alot.. if i am upset.. when something does happen to the brat because I am upset.. and can get very emotional.

And you see .. i would MSN my in-laws.. and tell them .. what is going on.. and in the meantime.. i would be going on a rant..! Yes.. literally .. a rant. But my in-laws.. especially my MIL .. she NEVER patronized me.. she just agree with me.. without trashing my other half. And let me go on and on .. for hours. And neither does she repeat what i said to her to the other half.. thus never causing a friction in between us. I’m seriously wondering if it makes a difference..with having an “ang moh” in laws. Had i married an asian..?? would it still be the same..??? What do you think..??

Yes.. the brat has a very special bond with Keegan her babysitter. But how can she not.. right..?? afterall.. Keegan had been babysitting her for 3 yrs now.. and it seems like just yesterday..when Keegan first babysat for me. And she is like an older daughter .. i never had. Yes.. I am old enough to be her mother.

So when someone hurts Keegan.. like her ex did.. we are of course upset too. I am not saying that Keegan is perfect.. i’m sure far from it.. but it is sad .. that i had to say to myself.. “i told her so..! ” .. which of course i didn’t. Such a lovely kid.. deserves someone better.. with less drama eh..? Of course if Keegan was my daughter.. someone would be getting a beating..!!

Yes .. without my glasses, i am partially handicapped. I remember how i would fret ..when i travel .. and had to make sure that i had back up pairs of glasses with me. And also looked a wee bit silly having to swim with my glasses.. when i was younger.. and didn’t know about prescription goggles. For people like me Lasik may be the alternative of expensive glasses and lenses .. and those goggles. I hear that the success rate for Lasik is like 99.9% and very safe.

We have a very bad habit .. when we take our meals. At the store, we eat in front of the computer.. and as soon as there is no customers. But at home.. we never eat in the kitchen.. because we don’t have a tv there. I had contemplated on putting a tv wall mount in the kitchen.. so that we can finally eat in the kitchen.. instead of the tv room. Afteall, the dining room is going to waste.. coz’ we only at there once.

While other kids run wild and screaming or some even crying and thumping the floors for candies not bought for them., and calling their parents name, the brat went to find a book .. and was looking at it.. and reading it. She never asked for presents.. or to buy anything .. unless she was told that we were going out to buy her something.

She wouldn’t destroy the book either.. and she would just flip it thru’ and sometimes asked you to read to her. She would asked if she can buy it .. and when you tell her.. it doesn’t have a red tag.. she wouldn’t fuss at all.

At the end of the trip.. she would put the story book back where she found it. .and leave with us.. no fuss.. nothing. Absolutely nothing at all. We sure lucked in on this behavior.

Donch you think she did a great job..?? and not only that.. it wasn’t expensive either.. and she was very accommodating… and did alot of extra work for me.
