Flowers Online

Filed under: Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 8:44 pm

Flowers are universal gifts, they speak the universal language for you, and for those who don’t know how to express themselves well, let the flowers speak for you. Whatever the occasion or wherever you are.. no matter the age, no matter the time, we all love receiving flowers. How romantic it is .. for a husband to present a bouquet of roses to the wife, after she had just given birth to their son/daughters. Flowers can represent many things and can be interpreted as love, caring, missing you, appreciative, thank yous, sympathy or just simply .. i’m glad i have you beside me.

Sending flowers is my expertise, having worked both the concierge and business center in one of the tallest hotel in the world, you can imagine the countless of guests that I’ve helped to send flowers back home to there love ones, while they are on trip. Affordable and quality flowers and service is the most important to me and my customers, therefore I would choose only to use the best florist that guarantees customer’s 100% satisfaction.

At E-Florist they can deliver just about any kind of blossom and gourmet baskets to anywheres in Canada and United States. By using local florists, they ensure that your flowers are fresh and not dehydrated and no shipping charges involved, plus you get to choose what you want to send from the huge variety of inventory they have online. Spend as much as you want or as little as your budget will allow you but rest assured they are guaranteed to impress and make someone really happy.

The site is easy to navigate and I like the fact that you can add extra touches to the flower or gifts you are sending by adding balloons or even cute teddy for a sick child just by clicking for them online with E-Florist. Absolutely safe and secure to place your order online for they never re-sell your information to the third party and the website uses SSL 128 bit encryption, the world standard for online security. Their policy..?? Happy Flowers, Happy Customers and Happy Florists.. ! what a happy trio.

Eating Out

I donch like traveling to the city if i can help it.. all because the brat doesn’t get to eat proper. She refuses to eat anything.. except french fries. So the 2 days we were up in the city, all she had mostly was french fries.. and juice. Well.. she did have a small bowl of noodles at Dharma Sushi.. and she told the chef.. “good noodles .. Chef…!!” in which it sent everyone laughing at the sushi bar.

Maybe It’s Us

Filed under: Brat Stuff, Random Ranting - Mama BoK @ 3:17 pm

We’ve been complaining and complaining that the lil’ brat doesn’t sleep early nor does she sleep the whole nite. But reading a magazine this morning on parenting made me think again that maybe it isn’t the lil’ brat’s fault.

In the mag, it says that we shouldn’t let her sleep in .. that way she can sleep early. But it’s a vicious cycle for us, and till the day we close our store at 7pm, there really isn’t much we can do but let her sleep late..?? because we get home by 9.30pm, give her milk, bathed her and brushes her teeth .. and then we eat.. and then put her down by 11pm at the earliest..?? so yes, it is as much as our fault and we have to do what is best really soon.

My Daddy Is Happy

Filed under: Brat Stuff, Amusing/Musing - Mama BoK @ 3:01 pm

The next before the brat slept the whole nite .. the first time .. in a long time. She was very proud of herself.. so much so that when a customer came into the store the next day.. she told the customer .. “my daddy is very happy today.. because I slept the whole nite.. ”

Muahhahahahaha!!! that’s too, too funny..!!! where in the world does the gal gets these kinda idea..?? Maybe because we are alway grouchy.. when she doesn’t let us rest.. so we give out bad vibes..??

If you ever visit Halifax or Nova Scotia .. the best time to visit is the summer. This was taken right outside the hotel we were staying in - Econolodge or now called Comfort Inn. It is located in Bedford about 15mins to the city. Halifax is really beautiful. I wished Yarmouth was so vibrant because if it is.. i’m sure the tourist will come. Everytime i go up the city.. i cannot help but envy those that can eat and drink.. and do all sorts wherelse in yarmouth, there is just absolutely nothing.

Motherhood Changes One

It is really strange .. how motherhood changes a person. For someone who travelled so much for work .. before having the lil’ brat.. and staying in hotels for months on ends.. living in a suitcase…. i now have no desire whatsoever to leave home .. at all. If i hadn’t been able to bring the brat along.. i donch think i ever wanna come to the city.
For someone who only thought about where to go shopping the next day, I can only think of what to get for breakfast for the brat.. for we donch have the usual breakfast she is used to at home.
Does motherood do this to you too..?? I know PB had some changes too.. but different ones.. hhahaha!! i’m sure he wouldn’t mind going for a break without the brat for a few days.. but not me.. if i can’t see the brat for a day, i think i would be crying.. muahahha!!

One of the best thing when I was on vacation in Las Vegas was the hotel in Vegas, they are not only affordable, they are also and luxurious. If you noticed the lobby area, they are one of the grandest lobby I have seen. In Vegas, one can have loads of fun.. not only as an adult.. there are stuff for kids to keep themselves occupied as well. So our next time to Vegas, we will definitely bring the lil’ brat along.

A Special Wedding

Wedding with a twist is what my girlfriend wanted, a breakaway from the normal routine everyday wedding. She want all attending her wedding … to not only celebrate with her.. but to have a mini vacation as well. I recommended the Pigeon Forge cabin rentals, where you not only get the privacy you want, yet get spectacular views of the mountains.. fresh air .. and all amenities that are better than a hotel.

Burger King

I haven’t had Burger King for so long, I had almost forgotten how it tastes now. The very first meal we had .. for our trip up to the city on Sunday afternoon was at Burger King… at New Minas. I had a whopper meal .. but it was so- so .. nothing spectacular.. just plain old burger.. but i did like the onion rings, unfortunately it was very expensive for onion rings.. like 2 bucks for a packet of small ones.

Uneventful.. but poor PB was really tired.. because the brat refuses to sleep the whole nite again.. but instead woke up a few times.. the nite before. She was ok.. overall during the ride.. but was quite loud and noisy at times. But we arrived safely .. and the brat is just thrilled to be in the hotel.

So there will be no updating.. or minimal.. for the next few days. Take care.. and donch miss me so much.. while i eat at my favourite Dharma Sushi for the first time in 4 yrs. We keep missing them.. because they have only lunch and dinner hours…! and closed on certain days. Wish me luck.. that i’ll get there.. before going home. Later….. folks.. !

Affordable Magazine

Filed under: Around The World, Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 4:20 am

I used to love magazines alot and buy a few a month from the newstand, especially when i am at the airport and getting ready to fly to another country for work. These magazines keeps me company especially during a long flight or eating alone in a restaurant.

These days after having a child, i tend to only spend money wisely and when it is of absolute necessary. No more trashy magazines for me.. that’s for sure. And when i do buy a magazine, it has to be a good read.. and not just some gossip column or one that is filled with advertisement. Denver Magazine covers just about everything anyone who is visiting Denver would find useful. From recommendation of recipes, beauty products and properties, they do cover quite a fair bit of intelligent reading. Subscription is definitely affordable .. for they are as low as $29.99, a small price to pay for just about anything interesting in Denver.

Sleepless in Yarmouth

I have a real hard time sleeping because of my fibroids.. and the brat hasn’t sleep for the whole nite.. for a whole week now. Tonite.. i tried sleeping earlier than usual.. since PB was still playing his games. I kinda dozed off.. when i was suddenly woken up .. by some huge banging door sound.. and in my blur state.. i realized it was chloe . .in her room. The first thing that came to my mind was she was locked in the room.. and couldn’t get out.. because she was still in dazed state. So i shouted that i was coming.. jumped outta bed.. without my eye glasses.. and hairband.. and practically ran into the room .. to rescue her. Yes.. i’m that kinda mother.. paranoid.. with a capital P.

Fixing Her Teeth

Filed under: Health, Brat Stuff - Mama BoK @ 9:44 pm

We have been called.. by the dentist office.. and was told that an appointment was fixed for putting Chloe to sleep so that she can get her teeth done. We are so not looking forward to it.. and knowing my brat.. who wouldn’t even go out with Keegan sometimes.. it’s not gonna be fun.. when she will be asked to follow the nurse to another room.. without us.

On top of it.. having to be put to sleep for her teeth work.. really doesn’t make me really happy.. but what can we do.. if she needs filling right. And of course there is the store.. if we both needs to be in the hospital with her.. because i donch want PB to be doing it alone..nor do i want to be doing it alone without PB. Not looking forward to it.. for sure. But March 07 is the date.. please do remember to say a little prayer for my brat.. on that day.. :)

Filed under: Brat Stuff, Amusing/Musing, The In-Laws - Mama BoK @ 5:03 pm

My MIL came by yesterday to get her computer fixed.. and then had to leave by 2.30pm.. because they had a hair appointment at Francine. The minute grammie wanted to leave.. the brat started crying.. and bawling..! Grammie had to get outta the car.. and come back into the store. to hug her again.. and stuff. Grammie hadn’t even left the building.. and the brat was already telling her grammie.. she missed her. *slap forehead* ..!

Then wanted me to carry her.. and comfort her.. and “manja” for a good 10 minutes. Oh my..!! i guess grammie cannot come to the store no more.. unless grammie is going home with the brat for babysitting. So drama queen..!!

Beauty Jobs

My esthetician and my hair-stylist are people i see at least once a month or more. Of course, I love the ones back home more, the reason is simply because they have a technique to just relax me and make me feel rejuvenated and my skin glows after seeing them.

The beauty industry is a very lucrative one, and for some that i’ve met and come across, i know they deserved to work for a better place, with more incentives and benefits. Finding good salon jobs are not as easy as it seems to most people but now with a newly launched online job search engine, folks like my esthetician and hairstylist, can find the job they want and spa owners or even hair salon owners can get connected to qualified applicants, absolutely free and with absolutely no obligation. Helping student find and be successful and making full potential of their expertise is what this dedicated site is all about.

Miscarriages

Miscarriages are hard on every women. Today while we were at the hospital, we met a friend..who informed us that she had just lost her baby. I really felt bad for asking.. because i didn’t know any better. Next time .. better to keep my mouth shut. But she was very brave about it.. and wanted to try again. I didn’t say much.. but I hope .. she wouldn’t try again immediately, because the body does need some rest after doing a D & C.

And nope..she wasn’t happy with her blood taken.. but the nurses were great at the hospital.. and was really swift.. in doing what they have to do. But poor chloe puked .. even before she got outta the hospital, prolly too frightened. Took us a good hour.. to calm her down.. she was whiny.. big time. Glad it is over.. but sure not looking forward to March 07.

Baby Formula

Filed under: Health, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 1:22 pm

One of the thing I regretted most.. when I had my baby, was not breast-feeding her. I was a new mummy and she was my first baby.. and no matter how much you read in books or attend pre-natal classes, you never actually know what to expect until you have had your baby.

With mine, she just didn’t want to latch on properly .. and since I had a C-section .. in a foreign land.. no family around.. and plus in a totally different environment.. and hormones running all over the place, I was too stressed to deal with worrying if she did get enough milk. So we decided to change to formula instead.

Of course as a new mother, you want to give the 2nd best to your baby, if you cannot give her the best … your breast milk. But what brand do you choose from..?? there are just too many out there… and if the most expensive formula the best..?? all these questions you may want an answer to. Well.. to new mummies out there, all formula are FDA approved .. and they are just as good as any store brand.. plus you get to save loads of money, when you do choose store brands.. which we found out much later.

Now you can save even more just by taking a Baby Formula Quiz and get a $3 rebate coupon for your formula. Redeemable at your local retailer.. and all you need to do is to answer 7 questions. Easy peasy! and i know all mummies love the savings. Don’t miss out on it.

Drama Rama

I swear we treat all our present and ex-employees well. In fact we would go outta our way to help them, understand them and assist them in any ways we can. But if you say or reprimand them for being slackers or being mediocre workers only, they would come out with all sorts of drama-rama.

Today, we met an ex-b/f of an ex-worker and he himself said that it was really dis-respectful of our ex-worker to behave the way she did when she resigned. Like i said.. we were really kind to her.. and went outta our way to help and accommodate her in anyways we can. But boy..!! was it drama queen for her.. even when she was working with us. But we took all that.. and didn’t even complained at all. But at least .. we donch have to deal with anymore drama-rama kings and queens no more. And thank God.. some ppl do understand what we had to put up with.. because this ex-b/f of hers.. agreed whole-heartedly .. how good we were to her. Donch you just hate drama-rama queens and kings.

Cash In A Hurry

Filed under: Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 9:32 pm

No one likes to run out of money, nor spend over their budget especially for those like me who have a business and a family to run. We pretty much planned what we want to spend and also try to buy things that we don’t really need or must have, when there is a sale just to save money and stretch that dollar.

But one really don’t know when you would have a rainy day or an emergency, especially when you have a family and some kids. Of course, we do not want anything bad to happen, but if you do or when you do, it is good to know that payday loan can be a great help and relieve.

If you are a UK residents, you are eligible for this loan, whether you have poor credit or a part-time worker, you can count on emergency cash up to £800 at short notice. Wherelse your friendly neighbourhood bank, may not come through for you, epayday will.

Easy to apply, you just go online and fill in a form, check your emails and get your cash, once you are approved. Of course there are charges and interest for this loan, but definitely reasonable and payable. Plus if you pay the loan within 14 days .. there are no interest charges. Awesome..! But like any loan, please remember that payday loans are for the responsible ones.

Managing Your Finances

Winter is the worst time of the year for folks from this part of the world. To keep warm or to put food on the table is a choice that many people had to make during winter. Our winters are long and hard at times and careful budget planning of one’s finances throughout the year is very important. Well, of course there are also ways to keep that heat bills down, if you are sensible and take the necessary steps to ensure that you do not get yourself into debt because of trying to keep up with bills. But if you are like many out there who never plan ahead for the winters, now is the time to get some credit counseling and stop paying interest on your debts.

We didn’t go into the grocery store with him.. because it was cold. .and we were quite late already .. as PB needed to go back to work by 7.30pm.

A few minutes after PB left the car . .the brat wanted to get her safety belt out because she had an itch… and was getting upset. Wise Investment In Gold

Filed under: Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 5:25 pm

Universally accepted, that was what my great grandmother said to us, when we were younger. The Chinese strongly believed in investing in gold bullion or anything gold. Asked any Asians.. and they will tell you, how they were given gifts of gold in form of jewelry since young. Gifts of gold are most welcome just about in any occasion.

I myself have never seen gold go down in prices drastically and that is enough to say how safe it is for investment purposes. And in times of turbulence, you can be sure that your investment is protected plus will continue to be a valuable source of income. For the serious investors, the exclusive Monex certified 10 ounce gold ingot made of .9999 pure gold is what you should take a look at.

A few days ago, i had written about missing Karissa Boudreau, 12 years old gone missing for a few weeks. Last week, they found a body.. and i prayed it wouldn’t be Karissa. As a mother, we can all well-imagine what her family was going thru’. Late Thursday, it was confirmed thru’ dental records, that the slain body was of Karissa. My heart just felt so heavy. Homicide said the police. I don’t know what to think .. to be honest with you. I just feel very, very sad. I am not even living near Bridgewater.. nor do we know Karissa or her family.. but I feel their pain. Bringing up a kid for 12 yrs.. is not easy.. and for her to die this way.. after fighting over something that may at that time.. be important.. but now seems insignificant.. i feel for her family. God bless them .. and help them thru’ this very difficult time.

Spring Break Gataway

Spring is when the weather in Canada starts to warm up .. and the snow starts to melt. After hibernating for a good 4 - 5 months because of winter, I can understand why the Canadians rush to go and take a break in the city or just unwind and bask in the sun by the pool.

With the move to the new location and finally settling down, this year we hope with the change of business hours at our store, we are planning for a Spring Break Getaway. Prince Edward Island or PEI is where we had planned to visit for the last few years but never got around to doing it.

I’ve good experiences and stayed with the Delta Hotels in both Halifax Barrington and Delta Chelsea before, therefore, this vacation, we will choose the Delta Hotel in Charlottetown too. Their family packages are awesome and my 4 yrs old toddler, don’t even have to pay for the food consume from the children’s menu. I would always choose the Delta Hotel because they were the only reservation department who was willing to accommodate and negotiate our room rate on an emergency trip up to Halifax.

What’s up with these TVB shows.. these days..???!!!?? the inserting of the english language.. right in the middle of their conversation.. and it’s not just one or two of the actor or actresses doing it.. it everyone..!!! So un-natural..!! I know for sure.. that most hong kong folks do not talk like that.. except drama-rama ppl..! Ang moh donch say lah.. of course.. they talk in english.. and some speaks perfect cantonese too.

I’ve just watched episode 20 tonite.. and it was pretty good in the end.. although at first.. i found it quite childish.. but overall.. it’s pretty good.. so watch if you like Bobby Au-Yeung .. and i still cannot get over Angela Tong’s nose.. i think she had some cosmetic surgery done.. no..??

Importance of Health

Filed under: Health, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 6:45 pm

No one wants to be ill or fall ill, but if you do, I am sure you want to find out more about it and how you can help yourself and for sure you want to be able to relate the same illness with someone. Mesothelioma help can be found on this site, if you have a loved one suffering from it. Having knowledge of the illness can only be an advantage.

Health Insurance

Filed under: Health, Amusing/Musing, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 6:38 pm

I used to travel alot because of work and the company that I was with, took care of us in terms of covering our insurance. Had I not been covered by medicare insurance, I wouldn’t have been able to perform well for i would be worrying about the expenses one might need in case of an emergency. When you are traveling, one never knows when you might fall ill or when you need to have a chipped tooth look at immediately. And you and I know how costly these kind of medical expenses can be, when you are overseas. Taking care of our health was the best thing this company did for us.

Give Me Muscles & Stamina

Filed under: Health, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 6:31 pm

The man has a exercise bike at home, a stationary one of course.. that he uses to keep fit. He has been complaining about his kangaroo pouch for a long time now. I still think he doesn’t do it often enough, but one can’t really blame him because the cold weather here last like 6 months.. and when summer do come, we only get a few good days, where one can go biking. Weight benches I heard are more effective for those who wants to get more muscles and stamina, maybe we should look into getting one, afterall, it isn’t as expensive as I thought it would be.

What Do You Want..?

Filed under: Amusing/Musing, The Other Half - Mama BoK @ 3:37 am

PB wished me “Happy V’s Day” at midnite.. and asked .. what do i want for V’s Day..?? I told me.. a bowl of laksa .. or mee siam would be very nice…hhahaha!! not diamonds.. not gold.. not white gold.. or even pearls.. but food from home.

Yes.. i missed home.. and for those who are home with their loved ones.. cherish them.. and eat lots of food… that i can’t. For those away.. from home.. “welcome to my club” .. we should have a “expat wives” org .. eh..? Or “expat wives droolings” org. ? where every woman out there.. who misses home can come together.. and reminisce the good ole days and the good ole food.

Tough Love

Filed under: Health, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 12:19 am

When you see someone that you loved, your kid, your brother, your spouse or even your extended family, destroying his/her health by taking drugs, will you just stand around .. and not intervene or do it the tough love method by sending him /her to a drug rehabilitation? It’s hard to do it.. and see them suffer while trying to rid the habit but one has gotta do what you’ve gotta do.

Vacation Accommodation

Some people when they travel, they can stay in budget hotels.. and i do envy that. Unfortunately, for me, when i am on a vacation, I want to choose a place, where i can relax.. and feel at home with. Condo Hotels isn’t new to many travelers and the advantages of using one is aplenty. Amenities of a hotel but comfort of a home. Try it and you will know how comfortable it is.

Would You Marry Someone ..

Would you marry someone .. or even consider him as a boyfriend.. if he cannot even apply for his own credit card.. because he isn’t eligible for it..?? meaning.. he makes so little a month.. and cannot meet the minimum requirement.

Buddy flashes his “credit card” the first time he was on a date with the gal .. to impress her… i guess. The gal not knowing that the “credit card” was a supplementary card.. from his sister. Muahahhahaha!!

Ok.. seriously.. would you marry a guy.. who can’t apply for his own credit card.. and the only way to get one is thru’ his sister or his “g/f” ..???

Edison Chen Sex Scandal

Filed under: Random Ranting, Entertainment/Movie Review - Mama BoK @ 11:45 am

Yes.. what a tool.. the man is..!!! Can’t believed he kept everything on his laptop.. and left it someone to get it fixed.. knowing that he had very private stuff in it. Alamak..!! really alamak..!!

And what made me really pissed .. is Gillian Chung because sometime ago.. some skunk took some pictures of her in a changing room.. during a performance.. and she was crying buckets.. and said.. she worked so hard to have a clean image.. because they are idols of teens.

And then today.. she was all calmed and composed .. giving out a 2 - 3 mins statement.. but her growing up..! while she was young and stupid. Oh.. my..!!! what a contrast with those 2 public statements she made.

Much watched news for the last 2 weeks is missing teen, Karissa Boudreau. Today, a body was found near Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. But they haven’t confirmed if it is Karissa Boudreau. I pray very hard that it is not her. 12 yrs of bringing up a kid is not easy. I cannot begin to tell how the parents must be feeling right now. The anxiety and everything else that comes along with it. God bless her family.. this is really devastating.

You Trained Me Such

Filed under: Food Review, Random Ranting, The Other Half - Mama BoK @ 12:41 am

Eating with PB around is a no no..! well… that is if i wanna enjoy my food. Why leh..?? you asked. Well.. if i eat.. when PB is around.. quite the “kek sim” .. because he would give you that exasperated look.. because he doesn’t like ppl who eats loudly or chew with their mouth open.. or talk.. when you eat. And so .. whenever i slurp my noodles.. he would be running outta the room like a bullet train. If he didn’t have any shoes.. he would wear a clog .. kinda manner.. well.. you get the drift right.

So if i eat. .and he is in the room.. either i would wait for him to leave.. or i eat in the tv room.. if he doesn’t wanna eat. So just the other day.. i was waiting for him to leave the room before starting on my noodles.. and he said… “oh .. you can eat” .. and i said.. “nope.. ! i can’t..! ” and before he left the room.. i told him. “you trained me such”. Afterall, how to enjoy one’s food.. when the other half looked like you just murdered his dog or something to that effect… right..??

You see food to PB is just food.. and nothing more. But food to me.. is an kinda enjoyment… so very hard to entice him.. with food.. or introduce new ones to him. But i’m sure you all know… if you had been reading my blog for years now. Yup..! when i come home.. i’ll make sure i do my food hunts without the man… but with all my makan-kakis..! so anyone up to it..??
