The Dental Visit

Chloe during her first dental visit with Dr Leblanc. They are really good doctors.. but i can also see that they are not equipped for children.. like the ones we have back home. At time like this.. i wished i was home in Singapore. Chloe behaved pretty good.. but she got frightened after a while but that was expected. And we are still waiting for the other dentist to call .. to fix up .. an appt for her fillings. That I’m not looking forward to.

A Wedding To Remember

Filed under: Uncategorized, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 2:01 pm

Weddings are such joyous occasion and even though we say, it should never be stressful, who are we kidding..?? Never had i been to a wedding that the bride wasn’t stressed up.. and some even worst, didn’t want to get married because she wasn’t getting the right help or the spouse just wouldn’t lift a finger to help .. but that’s another story for another day.

Wedding Planning is all about delegation and getting the right helping hand and of course a comprehensive wedding planning site that has free interactive planning tools, expert advice, a local vendor guide and resources that are just a click away, does makes it alot easier for the bride and the groom. For anyone to say that there is no stress in planning his or her wedding.. well.. you and I know it is not true.. but with some good planning.. it can be a less stressful one.. and an almost enjoyable and memorable one.

Why..?? because she had been asking us for hot cocoa.. for the last few days.. and tonite.. just before she dozed off.. she said.. to me.. “will you give me hot cocoa . . and put some marshmallow in it..??” .. and then she “konk” out. And where did she get that idea from..? for a kid.. who NEVER wanna try new food or drinks.. or just about anything..?? The Simpson’s Movie of course..!

Survival Guide For Parents

Filed under: Health, Brat Stuff, Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 2:43 am

When i first had my lil’ brat, you cannot imagined how overwhelming it was for me. Being a first time mother.. and at 39 .. it certainly was nerve racking, plus being in a foreign country didn’t make it any better. There were far too many questions that i needed to ask and wanted like-minded couples/mummies to share with me, unfortunately being in a country that I don’t really have lots of friends made it even harder than it was already for me.

There are stuff that I wanted to know .. without having to sit in front of the computer.. going through pages and pages of advertisement trying to choose from baby product to maternity clothings and bras and just about anything. Because my spouse is also a first time dad, it is really hard to expect him to know alot too.

Parents from San Francisco are truly lucky for they can join lilaguide.com and get connected to San Francisco parents, and get the information and the resources that they need, because information included in the lilaguide website and books is written by parents for parents. Hearing the reassurance of another parent who had gone thru’ what you are going thru’ just makes it all seems not so bad.. and hopeful. You can also submit your own experiences and share what you already know to comfort another parent/s. It is a community all new parents and any parents can appreciate.

Aunt Helena may not be in town .. during Chloe’s birthday.. she is in Toronto .. visiting her kids .. for the holiday season, she never fails to get Chloe a present.. :) just like Godma Lynn.. both mother and daughter.. are very thoughtful. Their gifts are never 2-in-1 .. coz’ Chloe gets 2 presents or more.. for both her birthday.. and Christmas.. although they are so near together. Of all the relatives that we have.. Aunt Helena.. and Godma Lynn are the most thoughtful.. and kindest .. when it comes to Chloe.. and never fail to remember .. when the brat is celebrating something.

I asked PB .. “hey .. papa.. where’s my lotus..??” and guess what he said…??? *Slapped my forehead” Yup..! he left it on the basement staircase.. instead of putting them into the fridge..! Aiyoyo..!!! really can cry you know there and then. But i managed to salvage some to make just one pot of soup.. instead of 2 that i had planned.

Yah.. my lotus roots are VERY important..!!

Radiator King

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 5:56 pm

A well deserved name if you are ever on its website. You can see just about any radiator that you need. My grandmother used to say, that “you pay for what you get” and in all honestly, what she said was of absolute truth. Sure one can get generic radiators for your car, but you know.. when you pay so much for your car.. and it is used to bring you from Point A to Point B safely, you really want to use stuff that is of decent quality.

Buying original parts and equipments guarantees you a no hassle lifetime warranty on parts and labor. So if you own a Honda Civic and needed a Civic Radiator, you can be redirected to a distributor instead of a retail store, where they need to charge higher for a middleman fee. Or if you don’t know how to put a radiator in, they can recommend a certified installation center to you. Radiator King is your one-stop shopping place for all your radiator needs.

What To Do..??

When you child wakes up every nite at 4am in the morning.. ?? Not very much .. but to bear with it..and hope she goes back to bed .. without much fuss. No matter.. what we do.. threatened her.. bribe her.. cajole her.. nothing seems to help.

So we go with the flow.. and let her be.. and hope for the best.. and for the day.. where she would sleep the whole nite.. not just 1 nite.. not 2.. but always. And count our blessings.. that she is healthy.. and overall a good kid. A very wise advice .. from a mummy of a 4 yr old.. who refuses to sleep the whole nite.

We bought for everyone that we wanted to buy for.. and they were gifts that were thoughtful.. and not just bought randomly. By the way, everyone loved the finger food.. unfortunately, i didn’t enjoyed it that much.. because of my ulcer on my tongue. Plush Robes

Filed under: Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 2:58 pm

Having worked in the hotel industry in Asia for about 15 yrs, I’ve often wondered why our guests in the hotel would asked to buy the bathrobes that we had in each room. You see when one is in Asia, we never really needed one.. because it is way too hot in Asia. If you were born and bred in Asia, bathrobes are not a common thing that we use unless on a vacation, where one is provided in a spa or a holiday resort. Many a times, I’ve seen our Asian guests used their bathrobes in the pool, and we usually snigger because we all knew that the pool robes are different from the ones they are using.

But women’s bathrobes are a really common thing here in the West. Moving to Canada, made me also realized that bathrobes are one of the best present that you can give anyone during any occasion. Well, you have to realise by now.. how cold it is for me here. Even my daughter had gotten a PJ set with a bathrobe when she was only 3 yrs old albeit not the same as the ones I would have gotten.

The bathrobe that any woman would love would have to be the softest, warmest and of course those that you can monogram to make it all about her and special. A luxury one can afford now, if you shop online with Plush Robes who never charges for shipping. If you are like one of my guest in the hotel I used to work for in Asia .. and didn’t want to fork out $200 for a bathrobe when you were there, now you can get it at such good prices, not only for yourself but for a friend, a girlfriend and your wife.

Bathrobes from Plush Robes are made with the world’s highest quality cotton, coming from the Denizli province in Turkey. Surely, one knows all about the famous Turkish bath and its robes that are legendary for their extraordinary comfort and absorbency. Yes, absorbency is very important besides making sure the that the bathrobe does not irritate your skin, when you put them on after a bath or a self-spa at home. Hooded Robes are best for lil’ children like mine and they do carry child sizes and if you loved those Asian silk kimonos that you’ve seen on tvs or at an Asian friend’s house, they carry that too, at Plush Robes. Soft, Warm, Cozy and Luxurious, any such gift is welcome by any woman or woman friend. Even the famous Oprah Winfrey loved the ultra soft, plush chenille microfiber robe and we all know that Oprah only loves the best stuff. If you haven’t seen her Christmas giveaways on her Christmas show, you should. Free priority mail shipping for that New Year’s gift to that someone special.

Rustic Furniture Specialist

Filed under: Useful Links 101, Home Furnishing, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 7:57 pm

Inspired by a trip to Bali and Phuket, one cannot help but wonder why our bed and breakfast here cannot have themes that are rustic or even Spanish/Mexican to attract more tourist and even guests from the surrounding towns during the summer. Places like Digby, which is a seaport has great potential for such a bed and breakfast.

Instead of the very typical, English decor you get in this part of the world, I’m sure as a guest from the United States or other province in Canada, one would choose different setting rather than a conventional one. Afterall, rustic furniture are now available and affordable online.

One can have Rustic Wall Décor in every bedroom, such as a metal, sun and moon mirror. I’m sure your guest/s would definitely appreciate something different than your run in the mill bed and breakfast. Online store at Tres Amigos, has everything designed and constructed exclusively for them, from rustic hardware to furnitures and its accessories, this is your one-stop shop for anything you need for a makeover of your bed and breakfast. And because they are wholesaler, you get the best in prices and definitely a great deal too. Shipping is inclusive in the prices, so you’ll save even more. Should a bed and breakfast turn into one of those Mexican/Spanish resort, I’ll be the first to be there.

Quite Overwhelming

Filed under: Uncategorized, Brat Stuff, This Town - Mama BoK @ 7:30 pm

For the last few days.. customers turned into friends had been dropping in .. in steady streams.. to drop presents for Chloe. Yes.. and for those who couldn’t make it for the birthday party.. they too, drop in with her gifts.

It is quite overwhelming for me.. to be honest.. to receive so much kindness from these ppl for they don’t really have to buy a present for Chloe . .but they did, so they touched my heart. Even Godma Lynn sent an overnite present .. thru’ courier for Chloe’s Christmas. Sometimes.. when one receives so much.. it is time to give back .. to society… and this we have to teach Chloe .. starting this year. The money she saved.. we are taking it out . .and explaining it to her.. that we are donating for a good cause… and will therefore start a new tradition for the brat.

Going Mexican

Filed under: Useful Links 101, Home Furnishing, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 7:28 pm

Rustic Furniture are very popular in Asia and when I first migrated to the west, I’ve always wonder, how can i ship all these wonderful pieces here to be used to furnish my home. Afterall, Bali and Thailand are pretty far away and I don’t want to pay exorbitant prices in shipping, as that would defeat its purpose.

Having found a wholesale furniture online store with shipping included in its price, one can turn any house or cottage of yours into a holiday resort anytime and anyday. I’m sure for many of us, after a hard days work or a week of working long hours, just seems right to set the house in a rustic mode, to give the holiday and relax feel that one wants but not everyone can just head off for a holiday at the drop of a coin. What better alternative but to furnish your home.. with the best yet affordable southwestern furniture whereby it not only sets the mood for a stress-free weekend .. but also quality and unique items.

A sunflower bench near the window sill to just read and relax with loads of plush cushions… where the deck is, would be a perfect outdoor furniture. Made of 100% solid wood and handcrafted, this is a piece whereby all your friends and visitors are going to remember. Of course, there are more than just benches and furniture, you will find a whole range of home furnishing for a splendid makeover of your house. Turn your cottage into a cozy resort, a home away from home feel. And you know what it shouldn’t cost you an arm an a leg.

Yup..! yer heard right..!! i lucked in this year.. ! barely a month ago.. i was up in the city.. and bought almost $200 in Chinese food.. because my MIL had given me extra. . an advance Christmas gift.

Yesterday saw our very good and steadfast friend/customer .. Gerald lugging 4 bags of Asian groceries for me… and insist on giving me back change of a few dollars.. when he had saved us so much money and time. So yes.. i have more food now.. and lots of lotus roots.. in turn i shared it with Mr Choo from the Chinese restaurant.. so that he can make some chinese soup for his wife and daughter. Yes.. I strongly believe in giving when one is so blessed.

A Romantic Valentine

Too early you think to plan for a Valentine Getaway..?? I think not.. because of our busy schedule, if i didn’t do it right now, I’ll bet .. i’ll missed it.. and finally gave up. .and not do anything special for Valentine.

In any relationship, after a certain period of time, it gets kinda monotonous.. and dreary. I am sure you feel the same as I, not that we love our partner any lesser, just that familiarity breeds .. hmmm.. being too lax..?? A truly unforgettable Valentine escapade is what any woman would be looking forward to.

Paris is of course my first choice. Afterall, what can beat a Valentine break in Paris, where the city is known for being romantic.. and the food, exquisite! You’ve gotta love the french.. when it comes to being romantic.. and providing the finest not only in scenery but in food. Enchanted by the Eiffel Tower.. and its breathtaking view.. and renewing your vows right on top of the Eiffel Tower, is one of my plans. But a Carribean romance is also to die for.

Your vacation need not be expensive either, for making direct reservations with Holiday Rentals save you up to as much as 40% of the agent price. So if you are like me, always busy.. and always making excuses, make your direct reservations now.. and avoid any disappointment.

We were in Halifax.. when she did up the window.. besides painting.. she put up all the lights.. and stars.. and other decor. Unlike last year.. we were so unable .. because of Ms Selfish. HeartWarming School Tale

It is heartwarming to read that 2 students made their teacher’s wish come true. One of the kid is also someone we know.. who is a distant relative of PB by marriage. Kiersten Finlay is the lil’ gal that we know from Arcadia School. She and another friend took the effort to get ahold of hockey legend Ray Bourque to give a call to their teacher, Glenn Bourque who is a huge fan of Ray.

It sure warmed my heart to know that there are good kids around.. despite the fact that we see so many bad ones hanging around our store.. and trying their best to rip us off. It’s kids like Kiersten who make me hesitate to pack up.. and leave for Asia.

Moving to the west .. actually make alot of my dreams come true, because of the many land and space available, we are able to have a yard, a playground for my brat…and now we should look into getting a personalize pool for next summer. phoenix pool builders would be perfect fit for us, if we were in the United States for they have over 29yrs old experience in building pool to fit your individual lifestyle. Using the best material for the pool and a guarantee of satisfaction for every job they do.

Kids Are Hard To Buy For

We’ve never been in a habit of buying toys for the lil’ brat.. and not any expensive ones. So we try not to encourage anyone to buy anything ex for her. I’m quite paranoid that she might grow up .. and demand for things.. just because her peer has it. So .. we donch practice expensive gifts at all. Afterall, I didn’t have alot of toys.. and i turned out alright.

Had it been a few years ago, before i had my lil’ brat.. i would have been really pissy. that PB was leaving me all alone at home, but for the 2nd time this month.. when PB left.. i didn’t feel a thing..! why..? because i have my daughter.. and not having my lil’ brat with me.. would disturb me really bad.. other than that.. things donch really upset me no more. Be it an emergency dental appointment for the kids or an emergency tire change and just about anything that may happen. I love the fact that in each state, online payday advance are licensed individually to protect consumers like you and I. Not only are they hassle free, they sure make it easy for folks with any emergency not to fret and give a helping hand till their next paycheck comes along. Bear in mind that an interest rate will be incurred and the amount will be deducted from your bank account as agreed upon.

PB bought this a few weeks ago for me. As my back is always feeling sore.. i’ve always asked PB to knock my back for me.. but you know how it is.. about depending on someone else… even though he said.. he doesn’t mind doing it.. but i know it does get tiring right. So buying this massager is great..! no need to wait for PB to be available anymore.. can do it myself.. and got infrared some more..! stylo-malo or not..?

Better Than Silver Or Gold

A place where you can succeed. I’ll have to say that’s a great place to be .. wouldn’t you ..?? The American are very, very lucky people for they have so many choices when it comes to education and upgrading oneself unlike in Asia .. such as in Japan, thye have limited universities .. therefore limited space for everyone to go into the Universities. I’m sure you’ve heard of suicidal cases in Japan, when a student cannot get into college or university right..? Yes, extreme as it may sound, it did happened.

Unlike the Americans who are in LA and looking for a California College , there itself, they have so many choices, such as Westwood, with 5 campus locations to choose from. They have so much to offer the students there, whereby they can choose from several degree programs, such as design, technology, business and law.

Students in these LA College, can also participate in various recreational and cultural activities available at each campus location. Since the locality of each campus varies, students can pick and choose the locality that they are most comfortable with, so that they can enjoy the convenience of having a lush park or beaches or just being in the city for its concert venues and museums. Anyone looking for a college in LA, can check Westwood College out and see what they can offer you. Afterall, a good education is better than Silver or Gold.

Happy Birthday.. Princess Brat

To my dearest Chloe,

You turned 4 yrs old exactly today .. and as mummy looked back at these 4 yrs.. i cannot help but again and again.. thank God.. for giving me such a precious gift in you. You my dear, not only stolen our hearts .. but the hearts of everyone around you… and even the customers. Just today.. a customer said to you.. “I’m sure you’ve heard this many times.. but you are very cute”. Even the town Santa comes into our store everyday..just to see you.

You speak so well.. and you have vocabulary that amazes mummy all the time. You mimicked everything you see or hear .. so well. And basically, you are a good gal. You look like an angel.. when you are sleeping. You are usually not hard to take care of.. except on days.. when you are cranky. But you are afterall a child, so that’s expected.

Besides not wanting to eat.. and sleep.. and insisting that we sit and work on the computer and watch you sleep at 5am in the morning.. you are the best kid and the most well-behaved when you are out in the mall or at someone else’s house/place. But you are so clever.. to manipulate mummy.. and if you wanna get your way.. you would tell Papa.. “mummy say i can have a waffle!” or “mummy say .. i can bring this home” .. muahahhah!! not the bad kinda manipulative.. but the cute kind. You never asked or pester us for anything.. and you are not a spoilt brat .. that’s for sure.

I just wanna let you know how much I love you.. and how much joy you bring to mummy’s heart and life. If there is nothing that mummy had done right in this lifetime.. i know for sure.. that having you .. make every wrong .. right. I love you always.. and just want you to be happy and healthy always. Happy Birthday .. Sweetheart.. ! Yer 4 yrs old now. .no more 3.5.

Love,
Mummy

Outdoor Wear

Filed under: Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 11:27 pm

Ever since coming to Canada and having different seasons every few months, one learn to dress up accordingly. In most part of Canada.. the summers are usually very warm but not in this town because we are very near the sea and everywhere you turn, the windchill isn’t that fun at all. Volcom clothing is made for outdoor wear, so if you are going hiking or just doing outdoor activities, you may want to buy some for yourself and your loved ones.

Owning a computer store by association, you don’t know how many customer would come in our store to have their computer repair because it is loaded with spyware. Some don’t even know how they would have gotten spyware on their computer. We do recommend popup blocker to these customer, that way they would never have to worry anymore.. nor insist that a hacker had hack into their system.

Christmas Homer is placed on the other display window. Yah.. he is pretty cute in the window… that’s for sure. I’ll have to say.. that this year.. i’m more relax with the decor.. because of Keegan and PB .. doing everything. And of course no more employees problem.. and no more worrying about who needs to take time off.. or who needs to go shopping.. ..you know the works. This year has been really peaceful.. and we saved alot of money.. just by giving up .. and not hiring any more people. For the amount of money we pay.. every month.. we could easily hire anyone .. in Malaysia.. and they would be grateful.. and not give us any trouble.

In Awe With An Investment

We went to school together.. in Glasgow.. and she moved to the United States after she was offered a job with one of the leading financial institution that already made its mark all over the world. Being Asian and the likes of us, we are careful with our investment but time and again, I’ve heard my best girl pal talk about the worth of NYC Apartments. She had always joked that the real estate in New York City is build on top of pots of gold, that must be the reason why they are so valuable, and anyone investing in properties or real estate in New York City can never go wrong.

Yes.. I’m in awe with my girl pal’s investment, we all knew she went with the best real estate buyers brokerage. Apparently, this brokerage represents the buyer exclusively, and not the seller, thus, they take care of you the buyer first. Whatever your needs may be, be it an investment.. or a place you want to make as your home, they are there just for that purpose, to meet your fancy. Unbiased and totally professional is the service that she had gotten and they even manage and negotiate the purchase of your investment. What is best is the fees for their services is paid by the seller and not the buyer. Now isn’t that awesome. No percentage to part with .. unlike back in Asia.. where if you are a buyer, you pay 1% in commission/fees.

I guess part of making such a huge investment is to enjoy it process and knowing that the brokerage representing you has a huge list of properties for you to choose from and is willing to go the extra mile. As for me, I would want someone who is able to go into detail, no matter how small it is.. for the more i know.. the safer I would feel about my investment. Finding dedicated brokerage and its agent is not easy, but when you do find it.. remember to recommend them like what my girl pal does.

And hydroxycut, i hear can be used as it is effective and fast results. Usually I am apprehensive to use any kind of help, but drastic measures requires drastic action.

Hospital Blackouts

In countries that goes through winter like ours, the worst thing to happen is when the hospital gets a blackout. When i was in labour a few years ago, it was winter time, and i prayed really hard.. that there wouldn’t be a black out of any sort.. when i am in the hospital, especially during delivery. I am sure that the hospital have their back up generator and all, but power supply repair, needs time to work on. And really, when you are in a hospital for a surgery, you don’t want to be in the dark.

Chatty Chat

Filed under: Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 6:38 pm

It’s amusing when folks think that chat lines cannot turn out real friendship or relationship. This is my personal experience and very real, for I found true love on my phone chat and even have a kid with the man i met online. And it’s the true and nothing but the truth. Of course, there are some cases where you meet someone bad .. or not genuine… but mostly folks that goes on these chat lines are folks who are pretty shy in person.. and never gets a chance to meet the right person or shine for that girl. With free chat, one gets to know the person first.. and the rest later.

Absolutely private, no commitment, the ladies always chat free and the men have an option to pay for a package deal, which is affordable. True friendship and meaningful relationship can be attained but one has got to choose wisely.

Shaping Your Body The Right Way

Filed under: Health, Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 11:19 pm

I know of a friend.. whose father goes to the gym 7 days a week.. irregardless what the weather was. Even if he had a cold .. he would still go .. to the gym. We all thought that he was very health conscious in the beginning.. and really admire his determination. One day while we were visiting my girlfriend.. her father was watching tv.. with a beer. Surprised actually to see him at home, we had conveniently asked how come he wasn’t in the gym.

Anyhow.. to cut the long story short.. he was disappointed that after years of going to the gym, he still hadn’t achieved the body shape he wanted.. so he gave up. Little did he know that with bodybuilding .. one needs bodybuilding supplements to go hand in hand with his exercises. And yes.. we told him.. to get a professional trainer.. and speak with the trainer.. and sure enough the next time we saw him.. he really looked different. Thanks to bodybuilding supplements, else.. we’ll have another middle age man turned into a potato couch syndrome… and it can get ugly.

Truck Accessories

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 4:52 pm

The men here are very much into their trucks and their accessories. You should see how much they spend on showing off their trucks. No.. i don’t think it is a bad thing.. for it really isn’t a unhealthy habit.. to keep improving on their pride and joy. The funny thing is .. back home in Singapore .. a truck is considered for those who don’t have money.. and for working purpose only. But here in Canada .. a truck is what most “rich” fishermen have.. well .. most likely they need it to haul their lobster pots.

Zenon lights for their trucks is a must because they are really. Look at how stylish the Hella Rallye 3000 Blue Lamps are. No wonder the guys here goes ga-ga over them. Not only does it increase visibility, it sure did make the truck look alot more stylish.. for them to show off.

Afterall, which mummy wouldn’t want a part in picking up the birthday cake right..? Of course the man had his reasons. My fibroids were killing me today.. the whole afternoon.. and only eased off a few hours ago, so he thought he wouldn’t make me walk too much.. and went ahead to bring the brat to pick her own cake at the deli.

Ya.. ya..! i know he meant well.. and all.. blah.. blah.. blah..!! but i still wanna pick my daughter’s birthday cake.. period..! I’m entitled to it you know..! i’m the mummy..!!! First he deprived me of my first treat and tricking with my brat at Halloween .. and now the birthday cake..!! Now i donch even know how my brat’s birthday cake look like until Sunday. Bleh..!

I guess no one wants to see a doctor unless absolutely necessary and same goes with me. But knowledge is wealth.. so if one is constantly in any kind of pain, you should see a doctor immediately. Prevention is better than cure. A customer of ours was recently diagnose with Mesothelioma cancer and as quickly as he found out, he was quite late for treatment. No one wants to think that they are ill, but you can kid everyone.. just not yourself. Take care of your health and learn more about it.. and see a doctor before it is too late.

Sea World

Filed under: Uncategorized, Useful Links 101, Vacations/Travel - Mama BoK @ 11:32 pm

We do have a Seaworld back home in Singapore.. and even as an adult.. and each time we do go there, it’s a totally awesome experience. But you all know that I’m not living in Asia anymore. .and since I am in Canada, the nearest of anything remotely so awesome has to be in Orlando Florida, Seaworld Adventure Park.

Yes, we do planned to go because if you are a parent, you want your child to experience the magic of not only Disney but those of the sea creatures. For many of us here in Canada, we do try to bring our kids to Disney at least once in his/her lifetime but for some kids, they are more blessed like one of our customer, Sherry, who brings her son to Florida for a few times now over the years. Sea World Tickets are the ones that she reserved every trip, for her kid loved the dolphins. Even though bitten by one accidentally, they are still going next year during the March break.

The Love Beyond Ourselves

Filed under: Uncategorized, Brat Stuff, The Other Half - Mama BoK @ 11:31 pm

As parents, we all love our kids. There is only one person i know who doesn’t .. and it is a very sad thing.. to be associated with such a person. The love we have for our own kids, are just beyond words.

A few days ago, i was cooking and PB was playing with the brat.. so as to keep her occupied.. and let me cook in peace. PB had carried the brat on his shoulder .. and while they were giggling.. she hit her head onto the passageway to the bedroom. The bump was loud.. and we were so shocked.. because the brat played pretend dead.. and poor PB .. you can see he was panicking so bad..! Both PB and I .. panicked so bad.. we almost cried..! till we saw that she was ok.

Yes.. as parents .. we know we love our brat so much.. that we cannot think of anything that we would do to hurt her.. or any kids. So it is just beyond me.. how some parents we know.. personally, can ignore and totally not acknowledge their own blood. Men or women who refuses to be responsible for their kids.. they produce, shouldn’t even be given a chance to re-produce.

The brat’s birthday is just in a few days.. and we are ill-prepared for the party.. because my “thing” just started on Wednesday.. and as you all know .. i have it tough. PB gotta look after the businesses.. so there is really nothing that we’ve done yet.

The birthday cake is yet to be ordered.. although PB had wanted to order it over the phone .. but i insisted that we bring the brat to the deli to let her choose what kinda cake pattern she wants. Party favours need to be bought.. and of course the curtain we bought for the window in our bedroom still haven’t been hung.. coz’ we needed new curtain rods… yet to be bought too. Yup..!! that’s how it is.. when i am not feeling too good. PB needs to be told .. exactly what to do.

Limo Services In SF

Filed under: Motor, Useful Links 101, Vacations/Travel - Mama BoK @ 11:21 pm

Having worked in the hotel industry for 15yrs, it is very important to get the right car services for your incoming guest/s. There are alot of companies out there that provide this kind of service but as a hotel, you know that you have to find a limo that is reliable and not just have a few limo or limo drivers on standby.

Hotel guests can come in anytime of the day, flights runs 24hrs a day, and in a hotel like the one i was working for, definitely had more than just one guest wanting limo services. Contracting the right company with the right limo rates was important to us too. Afterall, you do not want to overcharge your guest/s, since they will be billed for it with their room rates.

The success of our business at the Front Desk/Concierge depends alot on the first impression we give to our guest/s of the hotel. This limo company represents the hotel or whichever company that hires them on. Different level of transportation services is very important to us, and the limo company needs to be flexible enough to be able to not only do airport transfer, but to be able to do hourly services, for business meetings, or entertaining the guest/s and of course their wives and children needs to be chauffeured around for shopping and sightseeing.

I’m just touching the very basic need of what the hotel or a company would need for limo services, therefore, when one look for this service, you’ll have to consider all. SF limo provides all the above and more, and don’t forget the corporate discount that you will get when you use them. They are simply the best limo and car services in Bay Area. Guarantees you and your company with superior service, highly efficient and competitive rates for any transfer or use of their cars/limo. When you use SF Limo, you can be assured that your guest/s will arrive safely. They are dependable, reliable and definitely professional, even your guest/s will like them.

Promoting Your Business

Advertising and promoting one’s business is very important.. and being a owner by association to a thriving business in Nova Scotia, one learn many things about advertising and its cost. For the money we spent each year on advertising on radio, the papers and joining various promotions, all we want is to see results in our advertising money.

One very effective advertising and promotional item that we accidentally came across a few years ago were bumper stickers, and you will be surprised to know how much buzz these stickers brought us. Well, it all started when we had bought a new yellow car and had wanted to use the car to promote our business, together with what was put on with our car, we also thought it was a good idea to give out bumper stickers to our customers/clients to put on their car.

It’s a good kind of freebie that you can give out to your customers and it doesn’t have to cost you an arm or a leg for it. Plus customized stickers are colorful and eye catching and if you order from the best, like stickers.com, you will be getting not only top quality stickers with your logo and message on it, they guarantee the lowest pricing but not at the expense of its quality. All stickers produced by stickers.com are photo-quality. Offering free artwork with your stickers or you can choose to use your own. And absolutely no charge for extra colors for your stickers. Ordering online is easy and you can pay by any major credit cards or by cheque.

For strong and long-lasting stickers to promote your goods or your store or even an event .. at a great price, work with the best only and be guaranteed to be proud that they represent you and your company. Afterall, who would want to put crappy bumper stickers on their car right..?

As parents, it can be a tough job. We lead by example. You will be surprised how much our kids pick after us.. and what we do ..or what they turn out to be.. is actually what we make them out to be. Have a habit of using vulgar words..?? well you can be sure.. that your kids will pick it right up. You think you very “garang” .. and “fighting cock” type..?? Well.. you know what..?? your kids are gonna grow up ..just like you .. trying to be “garang” too.. because all they are doing is learning from the best .. YOU..!!

If you are constantly shouting at your kids.. remember .. they will soon learn to shout back at you..! My MIL said.. the apple never falls far from the tree. So if you see a well-behaved kid.. most likely, her parents are this way too. So if you want tough/gangterish kids.. go right ahead.. and put your feet on the chair.. like a trishaw puller and swear like a whore.

But the strange thing is .. she doesn’t mind watching Chinese tvb movies though.. ;) weird eh..?

Refinancing Your Mortgage

Filed under: Useful Links 101 - Mama BoK @ 4:14 am

Buying a house must be the biggest ever investment in one’s life. For that itself, as first time home owners.. we tend to fall into the mercy of the bank or the banker who is handling our loan. It was no difference for us, as we were quite naive and literally begging for a loan.. to buy our dream house, we fall into what was most inevitable .. paying high interest for our mortgage.. because we didn’t shop around long enough.. and do our homework.

After about 4 yrs .. of paying of our mortgage.. our principal was still on a very high side, thus prompting us to look and compare, what other lenders can offer us. Some folks of course get a Mortgage Refinance for other reasons. For example, when the spouse’s uncle got a divorce a few years ago, and he had to split all his asset into half to his wife, so instead of putting his house out in the market, he got a mortgage refinance from his bank.

But before considering refinancing, this time we have to compare the terms and its interest rate. And since mortgage rates are dropping, this should be the best time to refinance. So whether you are doing it to lower your interest rate like us or paying off high interest debt, don’t forget to compare mortgage refinance quotes from top national lenders before taking the plunge.

You can now, compare rates easily on LoanNetwork.com with just a few easy steps. A 2 minute application plus you don’t even have to give out your Social Security Number for verification. It’s safe and secure and get you in touch with the top lenders and know their offer immediately and get the best deal out of it. No need to play phone tag with your personal banker, nor having to wait for a week or more .. for a reply. We know timing consuming it can be, therefore, by using LoanNetwork, you not only save time, you will find the best ever deals in the marketplace.

Watch All the Movies/TV Shows

Filed under: Useful Links 101, Entertainment/Movie Review - Mama BoK @ 12:23 am

Yes. .watch all the movies.. or TV shows that you want with Direct Satellite TV, at just one flat rate. Nothing more. . and nothing less, pretty straight forward if you asked me. And if you have a household full of big and small kids, or some teenagers, you know that ordering Direct TV would have been the smartest thing you’ve done.

Renting movies are even buying them are just to expensive. Movie rentals can come up to $5 a movie.. and if your kid forgets to return the said rented movie.. there would be late charges incurred. And you know how teenagers are.. they don’t even tell you, that they haven’t returned the movie.. till months later.. when you get a letter from the collection agency .. asking you to pay like $80 for a movie you rented 6 months ago. By then movie may not be found, if you don’t pay up, you will be blacklisted at Equifax and may stand a chance to ruin your credit rating.. just because of a silly movie rental.

We chose Direct Satellite because of its crystal clear broadcast. 100% digital quality picture and of course high quality digital sound too. We used to have cable and everytime the whether turns bad, you know you might as well switch off the tv. On top of it.. while recording from cable, if the signals ain’t good, you can get them to broadcast the show again. But with DIRECTV, a guarantee 99.96% of its signal , rain or shine is definitely welcome.

With packages as low as $29.99 and many different packages to suit the need of your entire family, you never have to pay for late fees nor miss any shows because of their live TV recording, pause and rewind and up to 100hrs of recording capacity. Awarded the highest in Customer Satisfaction Among Satellite/Cable TV Subscribers, I have faith in Direct TV.

Quality Time Vs Quantity Time

Filed under: Brat Stuff, Amusing/Musing - Mama BoK @ 11:22 pm

Having stayed at home with my brat for a full day.. a whole 9 hours to myself… i cannot help but salute all the SAHMs. I “ta bek” and I salute.. all of you .. again and again. As much as I love my brat.. once a month . .having her all alone.. without PB’s help.. can be quite taxing.

Nope .. she ain’t bad or anything.. mind you .. just have to pick after her like 100 times.. or she constantly needed to do something.. when you do too. I swear the brat poops more times in a day.. when i am at home with her. Spending a good 4hrs.. outta the 9hrs to feed her.. can also caused frustration . .on an adults part. So if you are a caretaker.. or if you put your child to childcare.. or nursery schools.. make sure you appreciate the teachers.. and their caretaker. That is why.. I try to treat Keegan really good.. because of the effort she puts in looking after the brat.

Furnishing Your Home

Buying a house is easy but furnishing it to your delight, now that’s the hard part. The co-ordination of everything in the house is very important .. and one cannot missed out on details. You might not think that it is important at that point of time to buy quality furnishing but as the years goes by or for an experienced home owner, I know that whatever I choose for my new house has to be thought carefully and of quality. Like my grandmother used to say, you pay for what you get. So when i choose faucets for my bathrooms, washroom and kitchen, I use the best, delta faucets are not only well-made, they are stylish and affordable. For my peace of mind, I choose to use only quality stuff.

Pearl For Brides

Filed under: Useful Links 101, Shopping - Mama BoK @ 10:54 pm

I was told to hunt for a pearl necklace for the to-be-bride, in the family because the groom’s mother wants the bride to look elegant and poise. But since the bride was pretty young of age, she may not know what to choose. I like the fresh water pearls myself, and was very tempted to get a pair of beautiful pearl earrings with diamond settings. But i had to hold back, because it is afterall the bride’s day.. and not mind. I don’t want to be accused of stealing her thunder eh.
