Price Chopper Closing
“A Yarmouth grocery store is closing, putting 32 people out of work. Price Chopper on Starrs Road will close Oct 20th. The store is owned by grocery giant Sobeys. Jill Thomas-Myreck, Director of Communication with Sobey’s Atlantic, says the closure of Price Chopper was a business decision. She says they are working with employees to help them with possible employment opportunities including the Sobey’s store in Yarmouth.”
Sad..?? yup..! after all.. one wouldn’t think that grocery giant would close down one of it subsidiaries. I don’t shop very much in Price Chopper, coz’ i can’t seems to find the things i need there. The staff are not the friendliest… plus the meat is not very fresh. But the in-laws do shop there.. and it’s still sad to see such a long time business closing it’s door .. and at such short notice .. ?? 8 days from today.

Times are hard. Economy is not booming. Many businesses are facing high overhead expenses and staff turnover, and stiff competition. sigh…. tough doing biz these days.
