Personally, I decided to send my girl to school for 2 hrs a day mainly because I feel that she needs to interact with other people. We are new in town so dun know many ppl yet. So it's just me & her all the time since hubby is at work all day. So she's a little shy that's why I felt she needed some outside interaction. But I still would not send her more than 2 hrs a day. I dun think I would have sent her to school this early if we have more family or friends around. I think only you know what your child needs. If you are worried, maybe u can find a school for 2 hours a day?

I think she's perfectly alright by your side, especially since sending her to school may mean picking up bad habits from other kids in school.

Besides, it depends on how you define socialization? Having friends? Or fitting in to the society? If it means social skills, she's better off learning them from you and your husband.

Looking at Chloe and how she interacts with some of the kids in the store, she seems fine in terms of socialising.

However, whether she will get bullied is another question. The test will come when she's put in that sort of environment. My boy doesn't look like he has problems but I tell you, it's a big problem now. Just that I've not talked about it too much.

If we don't have full time job (as in working for others), I would like to have Belle with me for as long as I can. There are pros and cons to sending the kid to daycare/preschool. Just do what you think is best for her. After all, you are her Mom and you know her best. :)

Don't worry, when time comes, she will fit in, like my boy, I am like you until boy starts school, he fit in fine, it take time, but you will be surprise. I would think choosing a school is very important as I think Chloe such a well being kid,to continue provide her a good learning environment and same expectation like yours, start planning and search for the school. Learn about their curriculum, character education and teachers in the school, when you find school with same vision, it will be less worry about. Honestly, looking my son enter the real world is a big step for me too..good luck!

yeah, Chloe doesn't look like she has interaction problems. I didn't attend preschool until I was 4 ;) I'm also thinking about only sending Ashley to a preschool when she turns 4.

As for Alycia, I think she has opened up herself ever since she attended pre-school as she was quite an anti-social before that. Attending school has also made her more disciplined, in terms of doing her homework and she now has stronger interest in writing, drawing and coloring. I personally think it's a good idea to start sending a 4-year old to preschool. In fact, I'm even thinking of sending Sherilyn to preschool next yr when she turns 3 coz she keeps pestering us to send her to school with her cheh cheh.

when i see Chloe, i don't think she has a problem with how to interact. Interaction alone with the family and with grandparents and auntie is more than enough. She can deal with that Jan, don't worry! she can react based on instincts
