Canadian Idol is one of the biggest show here for us. I donch really watched it .. because.. PB doesn’t fancy it too, too much.. but I know my MIL and Aunt Helena watches it.

Many years ago.. when we were still at Central Street, I know of some customers who have gone up to Halifax for the audition.. and i tell you it was hard.. because the audition was right in the middle of winter.. and many years… we’ve had hard winters. But these ladies.. i so salute them.. they braved the weather.. and went up to Halifax for the audition. None have come far though .. until this year.

Everywhere you turn in town now.. if a business or a food place.. or even at your regular hair dresser.. you have signs up.. saying.. “Vote for Dwight!”. Yes Dwight d’Eon has come along way.. home boy made good.. i called it. He is from Pubnico about 30 mins drive from where I am. So he is close .. i’ll say..! I hope Dwight wins.. at least top 3 .. because I know of some ppl around here .. who is rooting for him.. ! And i really wanna see someone make good here.. that way.. potential performers have a chance.. and not just a dream too far to reach.

Given the weather we have here in Canada.. which is always cold.. i am currently look for wooden bar stools for outdoor uses. The reason why I want a wooden bar stool is because of static in the cold weather.. and i tell you .. being zapped by a metal chair is certainly no fun at all.

Hang on a minute..!! we ain’t that romantic.. lah..!! the anniversary we are talking about .. is our store’s anniversary.. lah..!! “pontong steam” eh.. muahahhahaha!!

8 yrs in business.. and 7 yrs in Canada… it’s a very long time indeed. I haven’t been home.. and i miss home alot.. and miss the food more. Well.. i’m sure you all know by now anyways.

So yes.. 8 yrs in business.. from a clearance center .. to what we are today. PB bought out his ex-partner.. after 6 months into opening this store.. and of course he acquired a free/instant partner .. who became an owner by association ONLY. No easy feat to carry on a business for 8 yrs.. ! we have our ups and downs.. and of course.. “GREAT” ex-workers in the past. There are perks with being your own boss of course.. and that’s no more time for yourself anymore.. ! everything you have or own.. will indirectly go back to the store.

Do we have a luxurious life..?? owning your own business.. ! Jeez .. no..!! far from it..!! But you know what our biggest mistake was..?? Hiring too many ppl to man the store.. and thinking that they will have a sense of ownership.. and help you make money because it never happened for us. Everyone that we’ve ever hired.. except for Mike and Ryan from Halifax.. expects us.. to just keep giving.. and when we are tired of taking their nonsense… they decided that we are “BAD ASS” employers.

This grocery store is at Port Maitland.. where my in-laws lived. PB grew up .. buying penny candies from this store.. and it’s near the beach. There are many grocery stores like these all over Yarmouth County… and now that Chloe is alot older.. we too bring her here for her weekly snacks. Last week.. Grammie brought her here for some chips.. and this morning.. while i was putting this picture into photobucket.. guess what the brat said..??

Yup.. she remember this store.. and said.. this was where she got her chips.. and that grammie brought her here.. last week. What good memory eh..?? It’s amazing.. this kid of mine..!

For those have been married for a long time like I have.. we all know that .. things become a routine.. and we all become so busy.. we forget all about being romantic.. and dressing up… for your spouse/partner. Tell me you are not guilty about it..?? I am.. ! Well .. don’t wait .. till your partner/spouse find you boring and start looking for something more exciting out there.

Try little things like the open tip bras, in your bedroom rendezvous and surprised him and give him some excitement to brag about to his pals and co-workers. It doesn’t need to be an outrages lingerie .. some are very tasteful and subtle.. but it still sends the message to your other half.. that you are still sexy and exciting..! Give it a try will you..??

It is really funny come to think of it.. ! my brat does not speak like i do.. !! and you know what..!! i make it a point.. to speak as Singlish as possible.. with everyone here.. in Y-Town.. because i donch believe in being “ang moh” pai..! (slang, slang).

Some words the brat still can’t pronounce properly.. but both PB and Keegan takes great effort in correcting her.. and teaching her properly..! as for me.. i let it be.. because i think she is just a kid (my excuse for being lazy. .muahhaahha!).

And so .. if you ask her something.. and she doesn’t want it.. or agree with you .. she would say.. “Nah..!” exactly like PB and my MIL ..hahha!! that’s how they talk .. at times. And what i donch understand is this.. i spend almost 24hrs a day with the brat.. and she doesn’t speak anything like me..!! Wailllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll..!! why. .oh why..???

Good real estate agent are hard to come by. The ones that i’ve come across have not been the best. Either they are too lax or they become overly enthusiastic for the other party.

In my humble opinion a good real estate company or agent is someone who professes alot of patience and is there to give you their honest advice and share their expertise with you .. without just thinking of making you sell or buy quickly. It would be nice also for the real estate agent to have a huge listing for you to choose from and also be able to get an appointment quickly to view the listed houses as soon as it’s on the market.

Many a times.. we have to look out for potential houses on our own.. we contact the real estate agent.. and then he comes back.. and tell you the house that we were interested in is sold. Now that’s a real bummer eh..? But having said that.. I know that there are some good real estate agent out there and I hope when I need to buy or sell a house, I will be fortunate enough to meet their acquaintance.

As much as I empathized with this couple/customer.. i fail to see how they can blame their neighbor for stopping them while he was driving illegally and an alien in Canada. As much as I know that the emotional baggage .. that comes with one to be banished from the country.. and asked not to return till a year later.. with proper documentation, to rejoin his family here.. they should know that this is the law.. and they have to abide by it right..??

Yes.. he has children here .. with a Canadian woman.. but he has been here for 2.5 yrs now.. and without proper documentation and an extension of his stay.. and no work permit .. so he hasn’t worked for the last 2.5yrs.. while i bet his woman.. is on welfare.. or some sort of assistance.
