Home-cooked Steamed Chicken
Found a whole chicken at the supermarket the other day and decided to make some spring chicken with any herbs i can find. So with the help of Su-Lee, who gave me some chinese herbs .. i steamed this chicken.. for 2hrs. It has got “tong-sum” pak kei, kei chi” in it.
I cooked some tau-gay and beancurd to go with my chicken..and i had one of the best meals..
You see when you are away from home, you just have to make do. And i cooked a pretty mean tau-gay with beancurd too..
after 7yrs here.. i think i might just have perfected it..

ahhhhh
I likes chickens
You do..?? the real chicken.. or the chicken-chicken.. PB..! kkekekek!!

Did you use an electric steamer? I noticed you wrapped with foil. I haven’t been steaming for a while, because I don’t have a pot big enough for steaming. I’m considering buying an electric steamer
Hey..EE,
Nope.. i used the conventional way.. of steaming.. in a pot.. hhaha!! Yup.. it was wrapped in foil.. as taught by Su-lee the Vietnamese woman.
I do have a electric steamer - Tefal.. but then hor.. there was so much water on my food.. when i used it.. so quite sian lor..

The pic of this chicken is making my tummy rumble. My favourite chicken is also steamed chicken with herbs :drooling:
Hey..Shireen,
It wasn’t bad at all.. the chicken.. but then so hard to get the right herbs here.. ! and i’ve gotta make do with what i have..
i hear there are pre-mixes i can buy in asia.. but not here…
but then in Asia.. herbal chicken. is easy to get.. and cheap to get..
