I donch wanna be rude or mean..! but they had sushi here for more than a few months now.. at our local grocery store.. the grocery GIANT .. to be exact… SOBEYS!

Unfortunately, I have yet to try it .. not because it’s expensive.. not because it ain’t available .. when i get there.. not because the packaging isn’t pretty… but because what they have in the box of “sushi” isn’t sushi at ALL..!!

It is such a shame.. eh..??? for one like me who craved for local food so bad.. and they give me some “sushi-like” rice and seaweed.. and some crab-sticks.. and tell ppl that .. that’s sushi..!! that’s a shame..!!

I am wondering if SOBEYS doesn’t know about it.. or they just think.. that this is the best they can give their consumers..??

I’ve eaten sushi all over .. even in Japan, Tokyo (now that should be original right??) .. and the ones up in Halifax, Sobeys .. and Dharma Sushi… are definitely different.. from the ones .. they have packed here.. for the consumer.

Am i upset..?? no.. just alot disapppointed..! Afterall.. been here for 6 yrs.. and they did improved on some chinese stuff.. they have japanese udon now.. for a year or so.. and some Asian Gourmet spices.. but they never get the ones i’ve requested for ages.. like Bak Kut Teh, Chicken Rice and Chicken Curry.

I’ve offered many a times… to help them order the right things.. but nope..! no one called back.. and gave me any feedback..! very sad eh..?? I just feel that whoever that i’ve spoken to locally just donch really care.. *shrug*. One cannot stress enough.. how much we missed our food from home and be homesick ALOT! .. and these ppl are not even willing to help at all. Sad.. but true.

Oh well..! we still gotta applaud their effort in trying to bring sushi to this small town right..?? and for those who donch know any better.. this would be how sushi tastes.. and look like.. mediocre food.. with mediocre looks. Nope.. i cannot say.. i appreciate that.. but one have gotta give it to them for trying.
