I am sometimes truly amazed with myself. For instant.. the cooking of the liver with ginger. I tell ya.. it would never have crossed my mind.. to cook it on my own.. if i were still living in Singapore. Afterall, why cook when you can get them at your friendly neighbourhood “cze zar” store.. right..?? for a mere few dollars too.

For someone .. who haven’t really learned how to cook anything at all..because my mom never like us to mess up the kitchen.. i think in my case .. it’s call ” ma sei lok dei hung” (in cantonese) .. meaning.. horse die .. you just get down the horse and walk. My cooking is still very limited.. but that’s only because i can’t find the ingredients here.. and secondly .. really have no time. But i’ve cooked chicken rice.. pineapple rice.. and yong chow fried rice.. and even made my own tahu-goreng..

Yes.. i’m not usually one .. who looked back and lament about things.. but i am truly, truly amazed with myself.. for making the best outta my current food situation. The food i make/cook may not be the best.. nor authentic in taste.. but like the saying goes.. “beggars can’t be choosers right..??

My brat is much loved by everyone.. be it a relative or friend.. and even customers. Look.. at what she got for a present.. from Aunt Verna.. ! Aunt Verna is 90 something years old.. and she lives in New Brunswick.. and yet.. she remembers Chloe everytime she visits… and this time.. it was Aunt Helena .. who was up visiting her. But she still got a gift for Chloe.. and sent it back with Aunt Helena. Isn’t she thoughtful and kind .. to my lil’ brat..!

The things the brat says.. sometimes.. they tickle me so much.

“beep, beep..! excuse me..! coming through.. ! ” hahhahahahaha!! now that’s funny..!!

Wow..!! i’ve never seen PB so furious. .and passionate about anything .. especially when it doesn’t concern him at all.

This evening at about 7.41pm.. he was at work.. and I was home with the brat… and he wrote.. “jesus christ wtf is wrong with some people.. a customer just whacked her kid in the mouth outside the store”. When he came home.. he again mentioned about it. And he said that no kids deserved to be whacked in the mouth.. no matter how naughty he or she is. Coz’ i had tried to defend the customer.. by saying her kids can be really naughty.. coz’ i’ve seen them act up.

But PB was quite adamant this time.. and kept insisting that it was wrong. So i let it be.. and didn’t pursue the subject.. afterall.. i wasn’t there. .and secondly.. it wasn’t my business t0 begin with.

I was pleasantly surprised this afternoon.. by a phone call. Guess who called me..?? All the way from Hamilton, Toronto (still considered long distance call in Canada) . No.. not my family.. no .. not a friend from home who is visiting Toronto… and not Godma Lynn either.. !! Nope.. not Chumsymum’s brother-in-law from Toronto (i used to owe Chumsymum money lah..kkekekekeke!- she never tell you ka..?? )

True friendship is hard to come by .. and moreso .. when you haven’t even met the person. In this time and age.. when one is so far away from home .. the blogosphere is truly a life-saving technology. I don’t really expect alot from my blogging friends.. but let me tell you .. they have gone beyond and above many times over. Some have treated me so much better than my very own family in Singapore. My constant regret is i never have had a good relationship with my sister (she is crazy) !! , as much as i love her, i do not want to be sucked into her “dramas”. One example is she would call all hotels in Singapore .. to find out where i was working at that time and then will asked to speak to my boss. Yes.. that’s how crazy she was.

Anyhow, i rarely get calls .. because most ppl who wants to speak about business would call PB .. as for my family and friends.. they email.. or message me on msn. So when PB passed the phone to me this afternoon.. i never expected a call from Gene of Life As A Married Woman. I was really pleasantly surprised… and overwhelmed by her kindness. She called to wish me a good trip up to Halifax this weekend. We chatted abit .. and i had to let her go.. because it was a business phone.. and we only had one line… for both the debit machine and phone line.

To all SAHMs.. i salute you ..!! Anyone out there.. who dare say.. SAHMs .. have the easiest job.. i will bitch slap you ..!!

Time and again.. i forget .. what it is like to just stay home with my brat the whole day.. without any help. Today i chose to stay home.. because the brat didn’t sleep good the nite before.. and i didn’t want her to crank up in the store… so i opted to stay home.. and also instill in her the consequences of not sleeping the whole nite.

I have had everything planned out.. what i wanna clean.. and what i wanted to cook for the brat. But in the end.. i only managed to shower.. with the brat in the bathroom with me the whole time.. and i managed to cooked just one meal for her… in the evening. The rest of the time.. was spent picking after her.. and attending to all her whim and fancies.. from wanting juice..to chocolate.. to candies..! NON-STOP..!! She had lunch for a good 2hrs.. and didn’t even finished all her food. I ony had my lunch at about 5pm.. because i need to cook my lunch. On top of it.. she wanted to read, play.. with her playdoh.. and draw.. and bounce around the couch.. ride her bike.. play the keyboard.. and insisted on going outdoors.. when it was cold. She didn’t let me do the dishes.. without offering to help. .and i had to let her.. so i can get some work done. And while i was showering.. she pooped..! so needed change immediately.

At 9pm .. when she finished up her dinner.. i was pretty much pooped..! i still had dishes and bottles to do.. and another meal to cook for her lunch tomorrow.

So I salute you .. all SAHMs..!! you are the GREATEST..!!! I donch know how you do it.. but i would be going crazy.. if i had to be stucked at home.. on a daily basis..!

Yes.. i did say … Heart of Greed was good.. but also very “luan” .. messy.. !! too much fighting.. and bickering..!! Aiyoh..!! Pengshan..!!

I have to clarify to my in-laws.. not all asians.. are Beh Pai Seh (meaning : not shy at all/almost thick face) like me.. hahahhhahaha!!!

Why leh.. i say .. i beh pai seh..?? We were at Grammie’s house visiting on Sunday of course.. and after eating and all.. no need to help wash dishes.. some more.. and when we were going home. I asked Grammie .. “Grammie did you give me rice to bring home..??? Grammie did you give me some ham to bring home..?? Grammie did you give me potatoe salad to bring home..???” Yalor .. eat already . . some more “beh pai seh” .. wanna “ta-pau” (take-away) some more..!! So stylo-malo right I..??? and then of course.. Grammie obliged lah.. packed ham.. packed potatoe salad.. and then put inside plastic bag some more.. and then tie up some more.. to hand over to me.

Anyhow.. Grammie.. not all asians like that one ok.. most asians.. not like that.. only I very the “beh pai seh” one..!! But just so you know.. I “beh pai seh” .. because i treat you like the family i never had. Not because I “no big, no small” (moe tai moe sai)” .. , in our asian culture.. we cannot talk to our MILs like that.. or else.. we “kenna” left right and center.. and i’m sure alot of asian women out there can validate it for me..

I always make it a point to REALLY read when i visit someone’s blog .. and if i do comment.. it’s not just yummy, good.. or just some comments that is meaningless. When i do comment.. i spend time thinking it out.. and also making sure.. that i donch sound abnoxious.. nor rude..! if i have nothing nice to say.. or to share … my experience.. usually i donch leave a comment. And yes.. i do go back.. and check out what the replies are.

Now.. when i visit a blog.. and then you see that you comments kenna deleted.. that makes me very the “tulan”!! Wau lau oi..!! i take time to comment.. read your blog/entry.. and you freaking delete my comment. Never reply never mind.. but delete my comment..!! Yup..!! ppl like that .. they can never expect me.. to visit their “high class” blog ever..!! You bochup..!! i too .. BoCHUP..! no lost to me..!! stay in your high and mighty blog.. and donch expect any sympathy .. or comfort.. when things donch work out for you and your LD relationship..!

I have to tell you all this.. !! coz’ i am loving the tv series.. Heart of Greed so much..!! i can’t wait to go home everyday.. and watch it.. !! I’m right in the middle of it.. and i wished i could stay up.. or the brat sleeps early for me.. to continue watching the movie..! and of course.. my stupid fibroids.. would stop being a nuisance..!

Anyhow.. for those.. who haven’t watched this tv series.. please go watch it..!! it’s good..!!! very good..!! good actresses..!!

See it was warm enough for Chloe to wear just her singlet. And look at her new Gameboy Advance that PB bought for her.. PINK..!!! (turning my brat into Xia Xue ??? ) hehhehhe!! no lah..! my brat is cuter.. and less obnoxious .. hahhahahaha!!! Can’t go wrong for $10 eh..?? She loves it.. and never let it go.. been playing for hours with it. Wonder who she takes after.. hmmmmm..???

My wanton soup from the new chinese restaurant. I had to try it and see how it compares to the other chinese restaurant .. and i have to say .. i am not disappointed at all. There were 4 pieces of char-siew in it and 4 wantons in it too. The meat inside the wanton tasted really fresh.

As you all know.. i needed to go to Halifax for sometime now.. for a medical check-up. And because of how busy PB is.. we cannot just up and leave and we needed careful planning.

I say, i am truly blessed because a few weeks ago.. Aunt Helena offered to drive me up to Halifax for my medical. It’s an 8hrs drive to and fro .. and this wonderful, wonderful Aunt of PB .. offered to drive me up.. because she feels it’s important enough .. that i do my medical really, really soon. I couldn’t go on that week, because my menses came.. so we had to postpone it.

Now .. not only Aunt Helena offered to bring me up to Halifax.. my MIL’s brother .. Uncle Real ( pronounced as Re aul) , too offered to bring me up to Halifax.. if he didn’t have to work a few weeks ago. Yes.. i really feel so loved.. ! thanks to my in-laws.. i am sure.. they love me so much.. because my in-laws must have only said good things about me to them. Plus .. doesn’t that shows they are really, really concern about me..?? i think so..! I am grateful. .and absolutely thankful..!

And yup.. we are heading to Halifax on the 2nd of June.. !! for a few days..!! woohoo..!! Dharma Sushi here i come..!!

Awesome weather today..!! I’m not cold at all..!! and chloe didn’t have to wear a sweater.

It was given as high as 19 degree today.. and i’ve just sent Chloe out to the park with Keegan. Not much wind either.. which makes it a perfect day for the park.

I hope the weather holds.. coz’ tomorrow.. we are going to Misha’s Cafe..!! they open shop today..!! woohoo…!!

PS : The motorbikers are out in full force today too..!

Found a whole chicken at the supermarket the other day and decided to make some spring chicken with any herbs i can find. So with the help of Su-Lee, who gave me some chinese herbs .. i steamed this chicken.. for 2hrs. It has got “tong-sum” pak kei, kei chi” in it.

Yes.. to answer G’s from G&G Rocks, ang mohs do wear their shoes indoors. I even got proof for you .. kekekke!! can you guess who is wearing what shoes..?? And thanks to G.. the same G.. from Mommibee.. on the HTML tables.. i am able to test this out. It’s cool..!! go read G’s entry on it.

Sometimes.. i cannot help but think i am a SuperWoman too.. hahhahahaha!! Ok.. ok.. i’m blowing my own trumpet..!

Only had 4hrs of sleep the nite before, came to the store.. for 5.5hrs.. in the meantime.. fed the brat.. gave her snacks in between. Nursed a headache..!! and a bad tummy. Went home .. stopped at Pharmasave to get some stuff. Stopped by the competition to chat. Went home, cleaned up the chicken. . and did marinating work.. afterwhich, put it in the steamer… to steam for 2.5hrs. Washed up the dishes and stuff.. and prepared the brat’s dinner. Dry up the tofu for frying.

After feeding the brat, I quickly fried the tofu with beansprouts.. and then get ready to eat my own dinner at 8.30pm. Checked that chicken is cooked… and quickly eat my dinner. With all the fussing from Chloe.. PB came home and bathed her. PB ate afterwhich… while i cleaned the bath-tub and toilet bowl .. and showered. Then we tried putting the brat to sleep. She didn’t sleep till midnite.

I’m proud to say.. that i can talk about anything under the sky and moon with my in-laws.. and not be judged about it.

And to that skinny freaking woman (who happened to never worked before in her freaking skinny life) .. who told my FIL that perhaps.. we can’t keep our employees .. because “I TALKED TOO MUCH..!!” .. well.. FUCK YOU ..!!!

PB’s cousin from Ontario.. just gave birth to another baby boy.. on 20th May 2007 at 11pm. Baby and mummy are doing great.

MIL said.. if ony baby could wait for another hour.. to come out.. and then his birthday would be the same as her father (MIL’s father).

How goodu can a person be..??

Yesterday .. a fella who owes us money for years.. from renting our games.. and never brought it back.. walked into our store.. with his g/f. Both looked around for abit.. and left.

He then sends his g/f in.. and got her to ask what it would take to set up an account with our store for game/movie rentals. In which i replied .. a credit card.. and a driver’s license. The only reason why we asked for a credit card.. is usually because the person is a “risky customer”.

Now.. the fella prolly thinks we had forgotten who he is..?? since he didn’t come into our store for years..?? Well..!! sorry.. Dude..!! i’ve got a memory of a stubborn elephant..!!

The brat had so much sweets.. at Grammie’s place on Sunday.. no wonder she didn’t wanna sleep. And boy..! did she like it..!

Cousin Budd .. is quite the entertainer..!! i love to see him come to visit .. coz’ he and Aunt Sandra .. always teams up.. and play a few tunes for us. And if Mr Clark (Aunt Sandra’s father) came too.. he would be on the piano.

This was what i had at Aunt Helena’s place on Sunday. Doesn’t seems alot.. but i think that because i love my chinese food alot. Rice and noodles for me.. anytime please. The food was good.. donch get me wrong.. but you know.. we chinese.. we donch like the “kentang” that much.. kkekekeke!!

See i told ya.. we had a special guest on Sunday.. all the way from Halifax. Budd Gavel .. cousin of my FIL was in town.. and boy..!! does he fiddles..!! he plays the violin so good..!! and he is really jovial.. warm.. and nice..! My FIL is also called Budd.. so when Aunt Helena calls my FIL .. when Budd Gavel is here.. she calls him .. “brother budd”… hehehhe!! so as to not confused .. the two Budds..!! kekekekkee!!

A feast was cooked in honor of Budd Gavel of course..!! Chicken .. a roast .. and broccolis with 2 deserts.. of course the potatoes.. and bread. Mmmmm.. yummy..!! I still have half of piece of Lemon Meringue left.

For a very small town that i am currently living in.. there seems to be too much houses caught on fire.

Just this afternoon, when my MIL came by the store .. after her line dancing.. she mentioned that a house on Starrs Road was gutted with fire. Cause of fire not determined… by the Fire Marshall at the time of press release.

Well, not too too long ago.. there was another fire in town too.. in the middle of the nite.. and it was during a very cold winter nite..! So many ppl were put out of their homes.. because that apartment was a rented apartment .. with quite a few tenants in it.

Currently, the brat is a potato freak. She wouldn’t eat it for the longest time.. but now she asked for it all the time. Unfortunately, when she eats potatoes.. she refuses to eat anything else.. not even carrots..!

Just a small and quick clarification for all my friends.. and family out there..

My in-laws.. treated me well.. from the very first day i met them.. when i arrived in Canada..! Hell..!! they treated me good.. even before i came to Canada.. 13 yrs ago..

They didn’t treat me good.. just because I had Chloe… like most Asian MILs would.. when you give them an heir..

And yes.. my MIL stayed with me to help me out with Chloe .. for a few months.. the first day i came home from the hospital.. and after a few months.. she still came to stay.. several nites .. till chloe was about 6 months old.

I am also very sure.. that i’m not a easy person to stomach.. because i am for most part.. very opinionated.. but my in-laws.. never said.. a bad word about me.. not to the relatives.. or to friends.. ! I know so.. because one of the relative… that i meet often.. told me so.. My in-laws also tries and include us in every family gathering .. that they have.. be it the extended family or those of the immediate family.

So there.. you have it in a nutshell..

Donch you just hate it.. when ppl come into your store.. and asked you for technical support.. and refuses to bring their computer in.. for you to check it out..just because they are worried.. they need to pay you. One also get angrier.. when they didn’t even buy the computer from you .. and expects free advice from you .. not once a day.. but comes in 3 or 4 times.. a day.. !

And lagi best.. when you tell them.. it would be best if we can see the puter.. so that we know how to help him.. and he tells you.. “ohhhhhh..! i can’t bring my puter in.. coz’ it’s this BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG” !!!

Now .. if your puter was this BIGGGGGGGGGGGG..!! that can only mean one thing.. that you have a server at home.. and not a computer..!!! and if you have a server .. at home.. you better know how to fix your browser..!!! when you lose it..!!! What a dumb..!!!

It’s Victoria’s Day today in Canada… but of course like all holidays in Canada.. and for the Canadians it starts on Friday .. the week before.

Yup.. the banks are closed.. the government office are closed.. the courts are closed.. and even the cops .. are nowhere to be seen..! On holiday too..?? hahhahaha!! Well.. maybe not all.. but i think i really donch see much cops around.. during the holidays.

And where is the Killam family..??? At the store.. working..!! where else did you think..?? Anyone owning their own business.. would know.. that there is actually not much life for us.. except to work. And since .. we have such a hard time.. hiring ppl.. or getting ppl to work on a holiday.. in which we always end up working on our own.. during the holidays.. we might as well.. not hire right..??

We are very lucky and blessed .. that we got Keegan to come in to babysit the brat.. because i am too tired.. to deal with the brat today. PB just finished some computer work at a local confectionary.. and there are a few customers in the store right now. Keegan and the lil’ brat is watching “futurama” and drawing. So i’m trying very hard to relax..!! while we have Keegan here.

Yes.. the brat doesn’t wanna sleep still..!! it’s 2am here in Canada… and she is tossing and twisting . .and turning.. since 10pm..!!

We’ve tried everything from giving her more milk.. and in the end. .at 1am.. she said.. she was hungry..!! Ok.. we then fed her with a waffle.. and she refuses to lie down in the puter room.. which she LOVES.. so much.. and wants to be in the tv room.

Luckily .. these kinda nites.. are not often.. coz’ PB was starting to lose patience with the lil’ brat .. but i managed to stop him from flaring up.. a few times now. At this time.. she doesn’t want me.. she said.. she wants her Papa with her in the tv room.

So here i am typing this.. and eating the rest of her remainding waffle. Ahhh.. !! the joys of Motherhood..!!

PS : Chloe .. if you read this . .many years from now.. i want you to know.. that at 2am.. in the morning.. we are still not spanking you .. because this is how much we love you ..!

We were driving home from grocery shopping last nite .. of course with the brat..! She had asked for water.. while she was in the car. .and we gave her .. her sippy cup. After finished drinking.. i was sitting with her behind the car.. but she didn’t wanna pass the sippy cup to me.. instead insisted on PB who was driving .. to take the sippy cup from her.

I then tried to explain to her.. that PB was driving. .and he needed 2 hands to drive.. since i cannot drive at all. In which she replied a matter-of-factly .. “mummy got no license..!! only papa got license..!!!” now isn’t that funny..?? how did she know .. that one needs a license for driving..???

We got our answer shortly after.. she said.. “Spongebob got license too..!! he can drive..!! Spongebob got license..!” I think the brat is watching too much Spongebob.. you think..??

It took me a long time… just to get started on this korean show.. because the first few minutes of it.. was really draggy. So i had parked this movie in my achive for the longest time.. and watched it.. when i had nothing better to watch.

The plot was good and all.. after watching it for a few episodes.. but the storyline.. just doesn’t tally lah..!! makes it so hard to believe in. But definitely a “can” watch. Afterall, the main actress was so long-suffering.. and the main actor would have miraculously survived death.

Sinful..!! Very sinful indulgence..!! I’ve always allowed myself some really rich drink.. during the summer.. coz’ the sinful chocolate ice caps at Tim Hortons is not all year round. Well.. even if it was.. i wouldn’t drink it during the winter right..?? Donch get me wrong.. i ain’t afraid of the calories.. i’m just diabetic..!

A word of advise.

Just because you see the owner of the store in the store.. doesn’t make him your best buddy .. nor does he actually knows you .. or can be considered “a long time” friend.

Everytime we have a new employee, we have to remember to tell them.. that there will be ppl who would come into the store.. and claimed that they are “best friends” with PB .. or that they know him really well.

Even till today, this afternoon to be exact, there was someone who told Keegan that he knows PB really well.. in which PB had replied.. to Keegan.. that he hardly know this fella..!

The brat woke up again at 6.50am this morning and asked for milky. I think she got woken up by the rain and thunder. She did go back to sleep after her milky but not soundly. And being me, I wanted PB to get some rest, so i stayed in the puter room with the brat for abit more instead of leaving her to wake up every 20mins .. which she is known to do. Afterall, PB needs some rest too right..?? since he has been waking up with the brat 6 days a week. So whenever i can.. i will try and give PB a rest.

Anyhow, the brat finally woke up at 9.20am.. and PB got up with her.. since i only went to bed at 8.30am. Well, PB told the brat she wasn’t going to work with him today.. since she woke up so early and let me sleep till almost noon before waking me up.

This is the lil’ brat’s first skipping rope.. but of course as you can see.. she is far from skipping.. but it’s sure good.. that she is burning some energy doing it. She had fun.. and as you can see.. she loves to have her picture taken.. Well .. she thought i was taking her picture anyways.. kekekeke!! and I had to reassure her.. that yes.. i took her picture.. hahha! because she knows how much this crazy mummy LOVESSSSS.. taking pictures of everything.

Yup..! you guess right..!! if you have just seen my banner being changed again.. it has been raining since last nite.. and i can hear some thunder as well..!

*Sigh*!! just when you think the weather is changing warmer soon.. then “bam” .. the rain comes.. and the dreary sky.. and the works.. of course. This weather so reminds me of Scotland, Glasgow..!

Movie rentals will be good with this kinda weather.. but not many ppl wants to get outta the house.. with such nasty looking weather, and i hate seeing our customer/s coming in dripping wet.. just like Gary was .. yesterday.. and he refuses to take his jacket off.. to dry.

And yes.. ppl here donch believe in umbrellas..!! i haven’t used one since i came here.

We started the no tax sale today at the store.. but of course.. like usual.. the brat had to act up.. whenever .. we have something big coming up.

PB got a huge quote to finish too.. for security cameras.. to a big company here in town. And me.. my job is to try and proof-read the quote.. before he sends it out. We work as a team.. if i didn’t tell you that. I have no say.. nor buying power in the store.. and like PB had said.. during my early days here.. “i’m only owner by association” and i’m not offended by it.. i prefer it this way.. so that any major decisions is made by PB himself.. i just wanna be the woman behind his “success”. Also because as a “kiasu” Singaporean.. i donch wanna be blamed by anyone.. if things didn’t go the way he wanted it to.

Anyhow.. the brat was acting up.. and guess who came to visit.. ??? Gary..!!! our one and only loyal customer/friend. Gary has been a customer with us for almost 8 yrs.. and he is one person.. who never complains about anything..!! One of our ex-employee .. had said.. something.. really bad.. about Gary.. but we chose .. not to believe it and we are really glad we didn’t .. because as it turned out.. it was the ex-employee.. who was the “wicked” one.

As promised.. this was the second thing i ordered from our dear Mr Choo .. from the new Chinese Restaurant..! It’s a combo #1 .. and it was pretty good.. the rice and the chicken balls.. were good.. because the rice wasn’t greasy.. and the chicken balls.. had real chicken in it.. not like those from the other restaurant.

This is my daily diet ever since coming to Canada. If you have ever been to Canada.. you would know that everyone in Canada.. love their Tim’s..!! I’ve come to love my Tim’s coffee too.. but just one cup a day.. a medium coffee one cream. I am so regular.. the girls i donch even have to tell them what i want.. they know before i order.

I tell ya.. the ppl who owns Tim’s are making big bucks.. coz’ they are more popular than Starbucks.. or Coffee Bean.. or Second Cup. Ppl here can go without alot of things.. but not their Timmy’s coffee..

I ordered this a few days ago. It was pretty good.. and came with rice.. and chilli sauce. Although it was good.. of course.. it is nothing like the ones we can get back home… but this is really better than what i have had ever..

Did you know that there are just too many good blogs/bloggers out there..??

I love all the food bloggers from home.. i love all the parenting blogs.. i love those “ang mohs” in Hong Kong blogs. Before starting my own blog.. i never knew.. that there were so many ppl who wrote so well..!! and i’m saying really WELL.. !!! There are not many blogs that I donch like, everyone has their own distinct qualities.. and uniqueness in them. Many have become friends.. and many i owe big time.. for all their kindness shown.. for someone they haven’t even met. I remember all of them.. i assure you .. and will pay in kind even if it is not immediate.

Which once again makes me wonder.. why the ppl that i’ve met here (in person) .. are not as good..?? Perhaps if we didn’t own our own business.. it would be totally different..?? But the good thing is .. there are a few good ones.. and these few good ones.. make up for all the “wonderful” ppl that we would rather not be acquainted with at all. (more…)

As you all know lah..! i’ve been ordering chinese.. quite a few times now.. since.. the new chinese restaurant opened.

And each time.. if i wanted something special.. i make it a point… to call the boss myself… Mr Choo.

But i got very tulan-ed.. the second time i ordered food from Mr Choo… because here i was trying to be modest ( my mother taught me manners ok..!). Dear Mr Choo had asked me how business was.. and i had replied.. “oh.. so-so” .. not as good as your lor..!!

Guess what Mr Choo’s reply was..?? “how come..?? how come .. only so-so..??? !!???”

Wah Lau Oiii..!! here i’m trying to be modest.. and not trying to steal your “thunder” .. and then you donch appreciate.. some more trying to tell me.. how to run my business..???

You Tulan-ed or not..??? I very..!! so now.. when i talked to Mr Choo.. i said.. “very good, very good..!!” when he asked me about my business..!!!

Another chihuahua .. from the same customer/friend… and you guess right .. her name is “Twinkle”. Isn’t she cute.. ??!!!?? Like her name.. she is a star..! Donch you think..??

I donch know if you’ve noticed.. but i haven’t password protected my entries in the last few weeks. I’m sure you all know why i did that before right..??

For the benefit of those that donch know, well, the main reason is because i lived in a very small town in Nova Scotia, population like 7,000 only. The asian population is 1%. Because it is such a small town, everyone wants to be nosed into your business. On top of it all, my spouse owns his own business.. and because of that, we’ve encountered some really “wonderful” ex-employees. My one “wonderful” neighbour is also very the “kaypoh” that makes us wanna “pengshan”. Ppl from this town who happened to “kaypoh” onto my blog would misconstrued the contents and feel and insist that i was talking about them, which i really have no time for their nonsense. I have a very active toddler to take care of, a thriving business to help my spouse run, on top of all the above.. i do work for ppl back home and i’m up to wee hours in the morning, doing that.

This is not an uncommon scenario at our house every evening.. and i’m posting this to show G@mommiBee that we have the same situation here too.. hahahhaa!!

HEY! Remember me?

I’m Lakeview Larry, the Gator Byte mascot, and I used to be known for ‘tearing huge chunks off their prices’. Those were the good ol’ days, but most people have forgotten about me now. No one even calls to ask for poor old Larry anymore. Well, I guess I’m gonna have to change that myself!

And for my first act I’m gonna take care of one of the most irritating people we know. The TAXMAN! That’s right, I’m hungry and it’s time for a snack. So from Thursday May 17th til Monday May 21st (2007), Gator Byte Computers will be having a NO TAX sale while those pesky politicians try to find a replacement for this tasty little morsel.

(No tax sale applies to used movies, used & new games and game systems, music CDs, etc… does not apply to video rentals or computers & parts)

At about 3am my time this morning.. a Hot Mama came online and ask me.. for some of my brat’s pictures. So sweet of this Hot Mama lah..!! to do this for me..!! I’ve always loved online scrapbooking..!! but since i’m quite challenged in this area.. and busy lah.. at the store.. and looking after the lil’ brat of mine.. so i never really dabble into it. I seriously admire those that knows how to do it… and others kind blogger like G from G&G Rocks in Sydney .. has given me tips about it… still i donch know how to do it or rather too busy to try it out yet.

I showed Chloe this .. in the afternoon.. and she said.. “soooo pretty” . .hahahahah!! Thank you .. Auntie Sasha.. chloe said..! I also check it out at Jayden’s blog .. and now chloe got another potential b/f .. kekekkeke!! I mean .. besides .. “boi boi” Earthtone’s son..

Looks like mummy is encouraging Chloe to go for younger men..?? like she did..?? hahhaha!! Yup.. PB is 8 yrs younger than I.. I’m the cradle robber.. i’ll admit.

Besides the cake that PB got for my MIL & I (i supposed!), Chloe also went out to the gardens and picked me a daffodil .. for Mother’s Day.. Now this beats any flowers.. one can buy from the store.

We really wanna instilled good qualities in Chloe.. therefore.. we donch really believe in buying Easter presents.. or making a boo-ha outta Mother’s Day.. or Valentine’s Day.. except for Christmas. Now Christmas is a totally different story altogether. The reason for this.. is because we donch want Chloe to grow up thinking. .that she can get anything she wants anytime.. and take things for granted.

As you can see.. in this town that we are living in.. lots of kids are this way. But one can’t blame the kids totally .. because it’s their parents .. who spoilts them to no end. I love my kid too.. but i’m not gonna raised a brat.. and a loser..! Chloe has gotta learnt that nothing is free in this world.. !! one have to work hard.. and diligently.. to make one’s living.. not just by sitting on one’s bum.

Ok.. calling all stylo-malo bloggers..!! yes.. you .. i’m talkiing about you .. !! the one reading this right now.. !!

Today is Toonie Tuesday here in all over Canada .. i believed. Meaning .. you get 2 pieces of chicken.. and french fries.. or coleslaw.. or marcoroni for just 2.29 + tax. No drinks ok. With the exchange rate.. for the above in Malaysia.. it will only cost us 2.89 canadian dollars..!!

Now if only we can earn the Canadian dollars here.. and go spent it in Malaysia..!! “fatt tat” lor..!! But seriously..! the “We must have rice” slogan is really funny..!! who else but an asian.. can think of something like that..?? If you ask me.. i want rice anytime.. instead of coleslaw or macoroni..!

I so miss home..!!

As you can see.. this is the standard affair.. that PB does for my MIL on Mother’s Day. This year.. we were so busy.. due to not hiring anymore.. we got this brownie cake.. with marshmallow last minute. But it was delicious.. and it is the thought that matters most eh..?? Afterall, my MIL didn’t complained.. so i shouldn’t..hhahaha!!

It is freaking unbelieveable..!!! I know i’ve written not too long ago.. about ppl wanting to sell more than buy.. from our store.. !

I want you to guess .. how many ppl came in .. or called to sell stuff..??? 27!! one sold his PS2, some games, controller .. and also a memory card to us.. for a mere 30 bucks..!!! Now how would you like to own a PS2 for just 30 bucks..?? It would have been awesome right.. ?? if not for the fact that we have like 10 used system in our store for sale..!!! “pengshan”!!! and outta the 27 callers.. about half wants to sell their PS2. Others randomly wants to sell their Xbox 360, WII, different console games.. and movies.

To be honest.. it would be cool .. to buy everything .. that these ppl are selling.. but that would mean.. alot of money on hold.. till someone wants to buy them. And any smart business person would know.. that having money sit in the store.. and not moving is NOT smart..!

Plus we have a request from a huge company for security camera quotes.. so nope.. we just can’t afford to have money sitting .. and not doing anything. PB is going up to the company tomorrow to size up what they need for outdoors and indoor cameras.

But one cannot help but wonder.. what’s going on in this town.. ??? For the last 2 weeks.. everyone has been wanting to sell and sell..!!

You would think that since your spouse love crunching on ice so much.. and since there is a tray emptied.. and your spouse was still sleeping.. you would be kind enough to fill up the ice tray right..??

Nope.. !! of course not.. !!! He would rather .. buat “bodoh” .. then to fill up the ice tray for me..!

Ya..! ya..!! he doesn’t wanna encourage it.. like he doesn’t wanna encourage my in-laws from smoking.. ! but WTF..!! this ain’t smoking.. or anywhere near it..!!

Marah!!! you know.. I..!! Afterall.. i was up.. till almost 5.30am.. cutting up meat.. and preparing for food for lunch for the next day and some more wake up first thing ..at 11am.. cooked first.. before even brushing my teeth.. so that the brat can get lunch from home..!

I donch think PB is bodoh.. just buat bodoh .. only..!! and he is very clever at it too..!! No confrontation .. just buat bodoh..!

Children are just too cute..!! We have this posted at the store’s door .. when we leave the store between 5.30pm to 6pm, whereby .. PB would send me and Chloe home for dinner.

And chloe being chloe .. had asked PB .. what the cat was doing.. when we first put the picture up. And PB had told her.. that the cat was going to the moon. One day. .while we were preparing to go home. . as per usual.. we were so busy getting stuff ready…. we kinda ignored her.. and this was what chloe asked… “are we going to the moon??” in which we replied.. “sure!” .. and guess what the lil’ brat said..??? “But we donch have a helmet..?? we can’t go to the moon..!!” , she said.. indignantly.

PB and I laughed so hard.. we almost rolled on the floor.. and cried.. hahhahahahaha!!!

Just done watching this TVB series. Modern setting.. and pretty good story line and all. Only 20 episodes .. kinda short.. but also nice that it isn’t so draggy. Worth watching.. if you haven’t watched it yet.

As you all know.. our store .. sells all sorts of stuff.. for the convenience of our customer.. be it .. a headphone.. or batteries.. or glowsticks. You asked and we try to have it in store.. the next time you need it.

And yes.. we warranty our goods.. against defectiveness. But that doesn’t mean .. that we warranty the goods.. if you break them.. or if you bought them like 6 months ago… and wants to return it without a receipt.. on top of it.. thinking we are stupid..!!!

We have been in business for almost 8 yrs.. and we’ve try to be fair .. to everyone. We have the NO CASH refund policy.. because we had had customer/s who would buy speakers/amp from us.. and return it after the weekend.. because they are already done with it.. for a huge party they had during the weekend. And the excuses they give us.. were so ridiculous.. they think we were born yesterday..!
