Thinking of Anita Mui
Yup.. been thinking of Anita Mui all day.. ! wonder why..?? oh.. actually it’s because i was searching for some cantonese songs .. to put on my blog.. some oldies.. but goodies. So of course ..Anita Mui came to my mind..!!! and then it struck me..!!! OMG..!! Anita Mui died.. in 2003. I was devastated..!!!!! when i first heard the news.. in 2003. I was very pregnant still with Chloe.. and i thought she would get well from her cancer.. but she left so quickly.. i was shocked.
I followed Anita Mui’s career from the very beginning.. and i’ve always loved her. She sings good.. and not like the younger celeb… or some celeb.. that have affairs..! She is low-profile.. yet high in her career. A good balance…! it is definitely our lost.. that she died so young..!
I like her songs too.

sowwwie i was never a fan of anita but i was surprised of her demise, didnt even know she was ill for a long time. i only noticed today that ur blog has background music, sorry .. coz i dont turn my speakers on unless needed (these days my ears are always on the look out for the lil one only). Anyway, wanted to say, I love Danny Chan too, it’s playing “Yuit Poon Wan” sori, I cant read/write Chinese. I remembered I played this song on cassette (ya lah i belong to the cassette generation hahah) and pause many times coz i had to write down the canto pronunciation in bahasa so i could sing it
eventho i speak canto, i dont understand 8 out of 10 words when it is sung in a song. nevertheless, i enjoyed it. thanks for the song, really the last time i heard it was prolly more than 10 years ago!

Np..! i usually donch turn on my speakers when i am home too. ..
so no worries. I like Danny Chan too.. ! i love the duet he sang with Sally Yeh .. “Wait”. And like you .. i was from the cassette era.. hahahhahaha!! so we are not very much different.. and also .. play the song .. like 100 times.. just to catch the words.. and write it out in english.. hahahahaha! to learn the song..

Anita Mui was my favorite HK actress/singer too. Really missing her too. I remember when she was in Trouble In the Bronx movie with Jackie Chan that she would cross over to make more US movies. But then the good Lord took her.

oh yes it was really saddening when she left the world. She’s a legend to me! I grew up watching her films as well.
btw I love the music u played on your blog! brings back soooo much memories of the past!

I know what you mean..! although i donch know her.. and neither does she me.. i can’t help but feel a great sense of loss..! just like when Princess Diana died. I grew up watching her sing..

I always knew her as Mui Yin Fong. Never heard Anita Mui until she died.
