Yes.. !! i am talking about PB..!!! i try not to crunch ice in front of him.. and do my best.. if i have to .. to crunch as silently as i can. But today.. when he was at the counter.. and i at the other end of the room.. he still turned up the music.. and blast it out loud.. because he said.. he CAN still hear me crunching..!!!

Wau lau oi..!!! wanna kenna “SERPAK”, already eat my ice in the cold.. example living room.. when he is in the computer room.. so i donch upset him.. with my crunching.. and i crunched in the cold.. instead .. of sitting in a warm and cozy computer room.. and doing my blog.. and blog hopping. So if i wanna eat my ice.. i have to leave the room.. and wait for him to go to bed.. and then i can be warm.. nice .. cozy.. blog hop.. and answer the comments on my blog.. or comment on other ppl’s blog.. but then by that time.. i am so tired.. and sleepy.. i can forget about it.

Woohoo..!! Chloe’s Godma Lynn from Toronto is in town..!! it was a surprise visit..! We were calling Grammie to say goodnite.. and guess who came onto the phone..!!

Godma Lynn..!! we are thrilled. Be seeing her on Saturday.. and she leaves on Tuesday..! short visit.. but at least we donch have to drive up to Ontario.. hahahhaha!!

When i first came to this town.. i visit a pretty popular hair shop in this town. I must say.. it’s very nice.. and cozy.. but one thing funny .. is that .. they donch like to blow dry your hair.. if you have straight hair.

All these years.. when i have a hair wash.. they would ask you .. would you like to have your hair blown dry..??? weird eh..??? of course..!!!!! they donch even use the brush to blow dry your hair.. they just blow dry it with their hands.. like how i do it at home. So what’s the point of going to have your hair wash right..??

No massages either.. ! Yah.. i do miss all these from Asia. When i was in Singapore.. i go to this salon .. and it’s so relaxing.. just the massaging.. and the way.. they treat my scalp and all. For the last 3 yrs.. after Chloe was born.. i rarely go.. to a salon.. except for a quick snip.. because i donch feel like wasting my money.. and my breath.. trying to explain.. how i want my hair to be dried.

Oh.. !! and they wash your hair in the sink.. immediately.. !! not like at home.. they wash it where you are seated first.. and then rinsed it in the sink.. !! the way i like it. I miss my hairdresser from home.. !! BOO-HOO HOO..!!!

This must be new.. because it’s the first time seeing it. Bought it on Saturday nite.. and been eating a few each day. Still think it is too sweet.

It’s already Spring. .and yet.. it is so freaking cold here…!

I long for warmer weather.. not only because i wanna feel the sun… but because .. enough is enough..!! our heat bill is so high.. in the store.. and at home.. it’s crazy..!!

This year.. we only heat the room.. that we are using… because Chloe is now old enough to understand that we cannot heat the whole house.. when we are not in the room. Now.. she would wear a sweater.. and a pair of sock.. when she is home. Before..!!! she wouldn’t even think of it.. therefore.. we had kept the house really warm.. when we are home.. but not anymore now.

At the store.. we heat it up as soon as we get into work.. and then turn it down.. when Chloe leaves the store.

I can’t wait for warm weather to come .. so that the kitchen, dining room..and tv room would be somewhat nice and cozy. So that i can do my housework .. without freezing my bums.

We went to Macdonalds for a snack.. and since PB didn’t wanna eat anything.. i asked him to get some ice-cream.. so that he can share it with Chloe. I wanted to bring Chloe out .. for “makan” .. so she wouldn’t be so “jakun” .. and donch wanna eat anything from outside… especially when we have to travel up the city sometime soon.

Yup.. cooked myself.. some beef ball, tofu .. glass noodles.. that were all leftovers from previous meals. It was pretty easy .. with the tom yum paste that Gerald brought back for me.

I made Kai Si Meen with baby bok choi for lunch at 4.30pm. That’s because there is really nothing i wanted to eat from outside. So “jelat” to eat outside food.. to be honest. And if i could cook everyday for myself.. i would.

As you all know.. Chloe is pretty much trained to pee in the big gal’s toilet now. As an incentive.. we encouraged her to flush the toilet after using it.

A few days ago.. after flushing the toilet.. Chloe saluted the toilet bowl.. !! yes.. you heard right..! she saluted the toilet bowl.. while it was flushing.. hahhahahahaha!! I didn’t know what to think.. hahahha!! so i asked her where she learnt it from.. and she didn’t answer me.. just smiled bemusedly at me.

Yesterday.. we were watching Flushed Away.. at the store.. while feeding her.. and there was a scene.. where Ruddy asked Sid to flushed him into the toilet bowl.. so he go back into the sewage to save the animals there.. and before Sid flushed him down.. Ruddy saluted Sid.. and when Ruddy was in the toilet bowl.. Sid saluted Ruddy too. Sooooooo… that was where she learnt it from.. hahahhhhahaha!!

The things they pick up..!! it was funny.. truth be told… to see her.. doing it..

Donch know what to eat tonite.. at the store… so got PB to get a baked potato for me.. with cheese and bacon.. since i haven’t had it for a long time. Was it good..?? so-so lah..!! i think i make a better baked potato..

Well .. i made another pot of red bean soup a few days ago.. just because.. It would have tasted better if i had some dried longan or gingko nuts.. but unfortunately, the Asian grocery store.. didn’t packed them for me.. when Gerald was up in the city. Bummer…!

Ahhh.. i had forgotten to take a picture of a family of old friends.. who came to town to visit us at the store. What a bummer..!!

They are not from this town.. in Barrington originally .. and then moved to Clarks Harbour now. PB knows them from school.. a long time ago.

It was a nice visit. Wished it was longer.. and wished chloe was here.

Good friends are so hard to come by these days.

It was the first day of Spring yesterday.. officially i mean… but it was freaking cold .. the whole day..!!

And it sure doesn’t look any better today.. we are expecting rain.. and still cold .. out there..!!

Spring time it is NOT..!! A disillusion..!!

The things that Chloe said sometimes.. really amuses me.

She would say.. something like.. “i think i am gonna be sick”

“I think i donch like it”

“I think i want chips now”

Or .. “I think the sun is sleeping”

I had asked my MIL last year.. to give me some “one tonne” noodles for Christmas. And my MIL’s reply was .. “then i better start collecting the noodles now..since you need one tonne of it” .. kekkekekkee!!

One who is in Asia.. wouldn’t think nothing of having a packet of Maggic instant noodles. In fact.. i was brought up to think that Maggie instant noodles are bad for the health. Never would i imagine.. that having a bowl of instant maggie noodles is such a joy.. and so precious to me. Precious because i can’t get it here in this “ulu” town. And secondly .. to “tompang” someone to get it for me.. cost at least 1.25 cents a packet in an asian grocery store up in Halifax.

Look who is on the big gal’s potty now..?? Yup.. Sunday nite while visiting Grammie.. Chloe went to the big gal’s potty at Aunt Helena’s.. and as soon as we left.. Papa BoK headed to Shopper’s Drug Mart to get her a lil’ gal’s toilet seat to put on the real toilet.

And there was no turning bad no more. She would even tell us she needs to go pee now..

A definitely loooooong chick flick.. !! not bad..! Kate Winslet looks oooold..!! didnt’ really recognised her.. and saw the credits in the end. Not bad.. if you are in a romantic mood..

Chloe brings so much joy to my life… except the part where.. she doesn’t wanna sleep thru’ the nite.. and wakes up.. a few times.. a nite.. and only lets me sleep at 8am in the morning.. and i have to get up as early as 11am.. to get ready to go to the store.

Overall, she is a bright and good kid.. and i wouldn’t know what i would do without her.

Saturday nite.. i steamed egg tofu.. for chloe & I. I haven’t had egg tofu..for 6 yrs now..! or more i think.. because as per usual. .we can’t get it here. I had wanted to steamed it with minced pork and chinese mushroom.. but guess what no minced pork to be found for 2 days.. bummer..! so i made it plained.. with loads of shallot in it..!

Chloe loves it…. and i finished most of it. And yes.. the egg tofu was brought back by Gerald from the city.

Sorry… i took so long to post up the picture .. of what i cooked .. at 5am in the morning the other day. Was waiting for PB to upload the pictures from digi-cam to computer for me. So i’m pretty much at his mercy… kekkekee!!

Anyways.. this is it.. i boiled lotus root soup in the slow cooker.. and it only started at 1am.. in the morning.. because brat wouldn’t go to bed.. till about 12.30am. And Gerald had brought back lotus roots for me.. a few days ago.. and if i donch cooked it.. it might not last for any longer.. so “bo pian” gotta cook so late.. and then of course.. the brat woke up at 3 am .. and didn’t wanna go back to sleep.. so i let the soup boiled till.. she slept.

So yes.. i’m not crazy.. just fully utilizing my time.. while attending to the brat.. my miracle..

PS : I donch get to drink these good chinese soup alot.. coz’ you can’t buy lotus root or watercress here in “ulu” town. The last time i had lotus root soup was a long time ago.. at least 6 months ago.

We went visiting my in-laws today.. as per usual.. sunday. And my MIL gave me .. my birthday present .. 3 weeks.. early..!!

Woohoo..!!! you wanna know.. what she gave me..?? well.. you’ll have to wait.. till i get it and show it to you .. but yes.. she gave me money..!! whoo hoo..!!

Where to find such a great MIL..?? I cannot ask for more.. and count my blessings everyday..!!

It was only Saturday here.. but i’ve been feeling like Sunday .. all day.

Maybe.. it’s because we haven’t gotten alot of rest lately.. and today.. the brat and i stayed home.. because she was up all nite.. from 5am.. and everytime.. i go back to bed.. she would come screaming for me.. again. I finally went to bed at 7.45am Saturday morning.. and got up at about 11.30am.. when PB had to leave to open shop.

It rained hard today.. and not having enough rest.. is making me feel lethagic.. and i didn’t get much done. We have been so sleep deprived for the last couple of days..

On a happy note.. Chloe is getting way better with her potty - training.. flushing the toilet bowl.. motivates her to pee.. in the potty.

Guess what is cooking in my slow cooker.. ?? Guess what i can’t resist at 5am.. in the morning.. and had to have some..???

Yup..! i didn’t tell you i was greedy eh..?? Yup..!! only for local food from home.

Guess what i have cooking..??

Freaking weather.. !!! snowstorm.. and ice pellets now..! And it’s already middle of March..!! Hate the cold..! When does it end..??

For the last week or so.. the brat has been fighting her sleep.. and trying all ways .. not to go to bed.. till at least midnite..! i donch know what’s up with that..!

I mean.. if she slept the whole nite.. i wouldn’t mind it so much… but she still wakes up at all times of the nite.. and wee hours in the morning.. and then wake up .. and go back to sleep again.. at 10.45am.. but if PB is not in the room and up with her .. like on the first wake up at 8 or even as early as 7.30am.. she would be waking up.. and screaming.. and asking for attention.

So here.. PB sleeping like at 3am.. and then having to wake up with her.. at 7.30am.. or even earlier sometimes.. like 5.45am… and then not getting much sleep after. So you can imagine.. either PB or I would be very, very stressed out.. during the day.. especially if the brat had been cranky in the store.. lately too.

Anyone wants to adopt a kid.. from 12am - 9am .. everyday..?? or maybe just a couple of days a week..?? please..?? please..>??? please..??? pretty please..??

My mom used to call me Mak Nek Nek.. when i was pretty young. Those were the good old days..

Today as i watched my daughter. . think she was helping her daddy with vaccuming the house.. and going on and on.. about nothing and everything.. i cannot help but see myself.. in my very own .. “lil’ Mak Nek Nek” .. but of course… she is the more adorable one..

PS : “Mak Nek Nek is a term of endearment in the Malay language.

Yup.. Gerald brought back Hainanese chicken rice mix in a bottle for me.. so today.. i made some chicken rice.. with baked chicken.. for dinner.. It was pretty good.. and the chilli sauce was from a long time ago.. and it was still good.. so priceless.. doesn’t taste exactly like chicken rice from home.. but close enough. Yummmmmyy..!!

I am one happy woman… kekekkekee!!

Pretty good tvb series.. fairy tale like.. but i watched it because of Seet Ka Yuen. Love her.. and grew up watching her movies.. It’s all about true love..

Can you guess what i am eating..?? Sometimes i get lucky/blessed.. and ppl/friends from Y-town will go up to the city.. and offer to get me my chinese food. And nope.. I can’t get fish cake or fish balls here in Y-town, they are gotten frozen up in the city about 4hrs drive away.

Chloe wanted her picture taken yesterday with her bunny.. hahah!! She kept saying.. “take picture of me! take picture of me!”.

Are you wondering why she has on the same sweater for every picture she takes.. when she is at the store..?? Well that’s because she has more than one sweater that is the same color and same pattern. We bought the same ones.. because she can sometimes be anal about what she wears.. so in order not to make her scream blue murder… we just bought the same ones.. so when we have to wash a dirty one.. she wouldn’t even know the difference.. hhahahaha!! Easy way out.. for smart parents like us.. kekekekke!!

Ppl complained money not enough.. but my only complain is hours not enough!!! The day is just not enough..! i need more time.. to do stuff.. !! everyday… just goes by too fast.. and there are too many things i wanna do.. at home.. at the store.. and also for myself.. ! but i can’t even find them to read a magazine..!!

I need more time..!!! anyone got time to sell..???

It’s 8 degree out there today..! almost spring-like.. I didn’t even have my winter jacket on…! woohoo..!!

But i know.. it’s only a trick.. coz’ this weekend.. it’s gonna sux again..! Oh well .. enjoy it while you can eh..??
