Things are coming along at the new store. Half the things are still not moved yet.. but it is coming along.. slowly but surely..

I have a good feeling for this place.. and i feel we will do better up at Main Street .. instead of down the road.. at a corner.

Poor Papa BoK hard at work again.. !! Woke up early today.. and already at work..whne the store was open.. to do loads of calls.. and to get the new place set up..!

Poor Papa BoK .. i wished i could help more.. but with a toddler on hand..and today being Halloween and all.. not much i can do to help.

And i think i am getting slack.. in the efficient department..! i think too long .. taking it easy.. and just waiting for Papa BoK to do everything.. hah!

Every move we make.. at home.. was coordinated by Papa BoK and packing is usually done last minute.. and usually Papa BoK is the one.. who completes the packing and moving..and i never had to lift a finger.. to move any heavy stuff.. hah!! just myself.. and a year ago.. my baby and I..

Yes.. i’m becoming a real bummer..!! a real loser..!! Better buck up .. gal.. *note to myself*.. kekekeke!!

Poor Papa BoK did most of the moving and packing and unpacking of the heavy stuff on his own. And after everyone gone home..he still went to the new store to do more work.

Those who came to help was great..! and those who said.. they would come. .and didn’t turn up.. had to cheek to send messages.. like “i was waiting for you to call”.

And one even last minute .. say he can’t get his truck or something.. even though he had boldly said he would have it by Sunday.. and that he would come and help.

Some even ask Papa BoK to go onto the net to play games with them.. and when Papa BoK told them that he had a shit -load of things to move.. they didn’t even offer to help.

*Shaking my head* .. friends..??!!!?? nah.. !! 猪不如!!!! Ppl here never fail to amaze me.. especially those we think are our friends.. and they turn out to be real skunky..!!

Oh well.. i just hope Papa BoK realises.. who he can count on.. and who he can’t from now on.

I first got my internet access in Feb. 1995 and spent a LOT of hours on-line during the first few months. It’s an awesome place and I know you must agree due to the fact that you’re sitting in front of a screen reading about MY life, hehe.

Then again, I STILL spend a lot of hours on-line. About 98% of my online time these days is spent talking to my girlfriend, the other 2% is spent deleteing all the junk mail that floods my mailbox =]

I met my girlfriend online, she’s currently living in Singapore, her name is Mama BoK and I love her very much. I try to talk to her everyday online, but it’s not always possible since we both work and there’s such a huge time difference. But soon we’ll be together..

This was the little boy i fell in love with……. some 10 yrs ago……… blond hair .. blue eyes.. and a huge cake. Isn’t he a cutie..???!!!???

Daylight savings just started 2mins ago..!! that would mean that the nites will be longer.. and the days shorter.. !

It’s starting to be really cold out.. and winter is coming for sure. I just hope that the snow donch come too soon this year. and not too hard please.

Today was not a fruitful day at all..! i slept in too late.. and made papabok do too much… and thus making him.. not able to move more stuff into the new store as planned. It was raining lots too today.. ! so making us all lazy to do anything.

Brat didn’t cooperate either.. and didn’t wanna nap in the afternoon. Plus JR who was supposed to wait for PapaBoK .. left.. and didn’t come back till we were about to close store.. bummer..!!

I hope tomorrow will be a better day for us.. in terms of getting more stuff done.

Back home this weekend.. everyone of our Indian friends.. and muslim friends will be celebrating Diwali and Hari Raya Puasa, while Papa BoK would be trying to move the store.. and set up everything for the new store.. all on his own.. except for some help from some really good ppl.

I am noting this down, so that I can remember and explain the many different cultures we have in asia to my brat when she is older.

Do i miss this festivals..?? yes .. alot..! i was brought up in a Malay kampong.. and therefore .. am very familiar with the practices of my muslims friends. I remember all the good food.. and sweets given to us in a tray.. by our muslims friends. .when i was a kid. The muslim has such a rich culture.. and i can still remember their weddings.. and just loved it…!! the drums.. and pounding during the parade when the bride arrives.. is exhilarating..!

I donch have many indian friends though.. but I remember Muthu and his sister . who stayed in Block D of our kampong. My oldest brother used to have a song for Muthu… i cannot remember what it is now.. but it was sure funny… and Muthu was surely upset.. with my brother… hahahha!! when we were kids.

DEEPAVALI or Diwali means “a row of lights” or the Festival of Lights.

We got the keys to the new store 2 days ago .. and Papa BoK started moving some stuff since yesterday.. with a friend JR .. !

I am grateful to friends like JR .. who is always there to give us a lending hand.

Today JR was in after work.. and helped more .. so the moving is going.. but slowly.

The big stuff will be moved on Sunday.. so hopefully we get a good turn out .. that way we can get more stuff moved.

And there we will be able to see who our friends really are..??

When we came home tonite from the store with our brat.. guess what she did..??!!!?? She got her Little Tikes chair.. and carried it by herself.. heaving and sighing.. and put it on the kitchen floor, climbed on it.. and turned the kitchen lights on and off.. and clapped her hands. .and expects us to clap with her..!!
Lights will never be the same for us again now.. !

PapaBoK and I decided to eat at Jungle Jims for our tuesday lunch, since we always go to the same place.. at the Colony. And even though grammie didn’t have line dancing on tuesday due to the bad weather (we were affected by Hurricane Wilma) .. she still offered to come babysit for us..so we can “paktoh”. Where to find right..?? this kinda MIL..!! ya.. i am very lucky..!! sorry hor.. not boasting.. just trying to appreciate my MIL that’s all.
Anyhow.. we had a short visit with Grampie.. while picking up my MIL .. and Aunt Helena was there too.. and our brat played with the cats for a while. .and then we had to leave for home.
And since it was raining and all.. and the store wasn’t too busy.. we decided to try the new place .. Jungle Jims .. and we just made it for their lunch specials.
Papa BoK had lasagne .. and i had the onion soup with ceasar salad . .and garlic baguette. I asked for an extra one . .because i was greedy.. hahah!! and the waitress was very nice.. and obliged.
The food was good.. but i would have like more meat in the lasagne.. but Papa BoK said it was just nice for him.. because there was a lot of cheesy.
My ceasar salad was great.. loads of grated cheese.. and the onion soup was good too.. but a wee bit saltish for my taste.
Overall, it was a good experience.. although the chairs are not so comfy.. and they donch even have newspaper or any magazine to read. I guess .. they donch want their customers.. to sit long, long eh..??
Yes.. we will go back.. food is not bad. .and the atmosphere is there.. for “paktohing” .. kekekeke!!

At 22 months, you are so cute.. and so funny at times…. and your pixie face never fails to make mummy so happy.. you have the cutest face..and the sweetest and cheekiest smile that mummy has ever seen.
You still wouldn’t drink from the seepy cup.. although you tricked daddy into buying you another seepy cup. You still love baby food.. but love fried udon with a passion.
You love your snack of chips and cookies.. but refuses anything else.
But you’ve certainly grown much taller.. and we had to buy you new shoes.. ! in fact you are outgrowing Sarah.. and she cannot give you any more hands-me-down. Now that’s a bummer..hahha!!

No visiting Grammie and Grampie today.. for Grammie went to “stripper camp” .. hahahha!!
Nah.. actually .. Grammie went to a Halloween Camp…. in Camp Wapomeo in Carleton on Saturday .. with a group of line dancing gals..! about 40 of them.. and she had told me.. “No Men..!!”
Grampie had joked.. that that was because they were gonna have “New Men” there .. therefore, they weren’t allow to have their spouses there.. hahahhahahaha!! Funny Grampie..!!
And then Papa BoK said.. maybe there is gonna be strippers there.. hahahhahahahha!! therefore the “No Men” thingie.
I told Grammie to bring the camera… if there was strippers.. but she said.. nah..! Bummer..!!
Grammie will be back late today.. and we had to work.. so we wouldn’t be visiting today again.. 2 weeks now..!

Yes.. we have to work on Sunday.. because one of our worker took time off to go to Boston to see a ball game. And the morning girl already worked yesterday.. so it wouldn’t be so nice.. to ask her to work on sunday too right..??

I love sauerkraut anything..! the first time i had sauerkraut was with a Reuben Sandwich.. and the best one..! i had it at Tanglin Shopping Center.. 3rd Level. I can’t remember the name of the diner now.. but it was a good old fashioned American Diner.. and the chef was very eccentric…!! But the food.. A1 ..!! The waitress (old) never smiled.
Anyhow.. i had some roast beef.. and sauerkraut this morning.. for breakfast.. to relive that first time… but it wasn’t the same.. it wasn’t as good. Sorry for the blurry picture.

I cooked some bacon and toasted some italian ciabatta bread ..and spread loads of bruschetta on it.. yummy.!! that’s was my breakfast this morning….!!

The weather is getting colder.. and my kitchen floor is very cold.. but my brat refuses to put on her socks.. so i tried putting on her old booties.. from a year ago.. to see if she would wear them.. they still fit.. but a wee bit tight.. she wore it for abit.. and took it off… AGAIN..!
So today.. when Papa BoK went shopping.. he thought of buying some bigger booties.. but i told him not to.. because it inevitably.. ends up not being worn at all.
So the brat just gotta learn how to wear her socks at home.. this winter..! Mummy’s being tough..!!

Inspired by the many food blogs that i read everyday… i am currently being more adventurous.. and trying different kinda bread at home. This week i bought this lovely .. and very fresh ciabatta bread…
Last week .. i had a raisin and walnut bread ( that i had forgotten to take pictures of). I am loving the ciabatta bread.. because i bought some bruschetta that was on sale.. and last nite.. i bought some sauerkraut ..to go with my roast beef.. so i’m all set for breakfast or a snack..

New toy for the home… the exercise bike certainly caught the attention of our brat.. for the first thing she wanted to do .. was to figure out the exercise bike this morning.

Exercise bike in the makings. Papa Bok went to collect it today.. and decided that at 1.30am .. he wants to put them altogether..!

Bought my brat her first sticker album.. and she had a blast with it.. and even have stickers all over the walls now.. hahahhaha!!!

Today, she asked for the thermometer .. and tried to turn it on..by pressing the buttons on it.. and then looked for the babysitter’s ears .. to put the thermometer in.. hahahah!! when she couldn’t find the babysitter’s ears .. because she had long hair.. and was covered.. she put the thermometer into her own ears.. hahaha!!!
I also asked her to say her chips with a customer.. and she took the chip out from the bag.. and insist that i eat it.. and not the customer.. hahahah!!!
A little boy came into the store.. he was like 3.5yrs old.. and my brat was running around with him.. and playing with him.. and when it was time to go.. the little boy’s mother said to the boy.. do you wanna give kisses to the little girl.. and the little boy did.. and he tried.. to kiss my brat. in the mouth.. but my brat just moved backwards so quickly.. it was not even funny.. hahahahahaha!! she was so quick.. and swift.. and she knew.. she want no kisses from this little boy.. but she would give kisses .. to Papa BoK’s friend who came to visit from Montreal today. Hahhaha!! just too funny..!! the face she made.. when she didn’t want the kiss.
We were making funny noises to distract her.. from being fussy.. when we were changing her peepee.. and she learnt the noises so quick.. you wouldn’t believe it.. and was doing it back to us.. hahahahah!!!

Papa Bok’s old friend PM and his g/f M visited the store today. PM was one of the first person i met .. because we were staying where his son used to lived. And he had moved to the city at first. and now to Montreal for work. I think they were down visiting their respective family.. and dropped in to say hi. It was such a nice and pleasant surprise. I love ppl like PM and his g/f .. for they are such nice ppl.. ! and i was telling them about my CS neighbour. I ask PM when we were living upstairs of their son.. how many times.. did we go and visit them.. or knock on their door..?? i mean.. almost none.. not once.. nadda..! that is how much we love our privacy.. and a very non-intrusive ppl. We are not loud.. nor are we party-goers.. nor do we poke our noses into other ppl affairs. Our neighbours should thank their lucky stars.. that they have us as their neighbours.. because we just leave them alone.
Anyhow.. that said.. my brat got along fabulously with PM.. and his g/f whom she have never seen for almost a year. Are children really so highly sensitive..?? that they know who are the good ppl.. and who is not..???
For when i brought my brat to my CS neighbour’s house for babysitting.. my brat wouldn’t go to her.. even though we could be sitting there for an hour or so.. so i can’t make sense outta it either..???
I wished there were more ppl like PM and his g/f in our town…. *sigh*.

I cooked some thai pineapple rice today.. for we haven’t had it for a long time now. It turned out good.. and i cooked them with mixed vegies because my spouse doesn’t like the raisins .. or the nuts in it .. i also put very little pineapple in it.

My lil’ brat is 22 months old today.

About a few weeks ago, i wrote in my blog asking for 1 kind soul/person to send me a bottle of Ju Yi Oil, and guess what came in the mail today from Malaysia..???
All the way from Malaysia.. and from the kindest lady i know.. who is pregnant.. not feeling good at all.. gotta work.. some more gotta take care of little SQ.. and she had packed the package nicely.. and all.. and got some sort of tea and a vaporub in it too.. ! Michelle of Msau & SQ Playground…yes.. this kind lady sent my brat ..the Ju Yi Oil.. without even telling me she did.
And guess what..?? the bottle came broken.. *sob, sob*.. and oil was all spilled.. and there was a letter from Canada Post . that it either came broken.. or broken on its way here…!!! What a Sin..!! all of Michelle’s effort .. all wasted..!!
Sorry.. Michelle..!! but we really, really, really appreciate your effort.. ! A good news is .. the VapoRub is saved from the spillage. My spouse and I are forever grateful to you .. for being so kind.. ! I cannot thank you enough.

I made some red bean soup on Saturday nite.. after we got home from the store. It was great..! i had meant to bring them for my in-laws to try.. but the weather was so bad.. we didn’t go visit at all.
I am hoping to get some white nuts soon from the Asian Grocery store.. to go with my next attempt of home-made red bean soup. And nope.. the brat didn’t like it at all.. and the daddy didn’t even try it at all. I ate the whole pot on my own.

I have been eating alot of cup noodles lately.. but i do try to make it healthier.. but is there such a thing.. as healthier cup noodles..?? hahhaha!! nope… i donch think so.. i’m just kidding myself.. eh..??

Remember the Heinz’s label that i was saving from our brat’s food…?? in conjunction with Children’s Miracle Network Hospital Foundation., well I finally got my act together and packed up the few thousand labels that i had been collecting. A customer/friend - Mr Comeau had so kindly agreed to bring it up to IWK hospital for me.

I’ve come to this point in my life… where business and everything else is concern .. with workers/customers.. what will be .. will be…! i’ve learned to take everything in stride.. and just face any obstacles that we have head-on..! No point complaining about it.. nor lamenting about it. If other ppl cannot get their act together.. we just have to pick up.. and just do it… like the nike advert..! Maybe Nike had some problems like us eh..?? hahahah!!
Anyhow.. i think it is much easier.. to take things lightly.. afterall.. with or without whoever.. life goes on.. right..?? so why get upset… and pissed.. and rant.. ??
Like i told one worker to do ABC the other day.. but at the end of the shift.. nothing was done. Normally, I would rant and complain about how lazy .. this lazy bastard is.. but now.. hahah!! donch do it.. fine.. someone else would.. another worker would.. and i don’t let this ABC worker work so much.. since ABC worker cannot follow simple instruction.. and do simple things.

My brat is addicted to the Simpsons. Everytime she wants the TV on.. she says.. Sims! Sims!! and pull me to the remote controls..!! And she won’t even watch Gilmore Girls or something else..!!

Yes.. we are officially moving everyone!! to Main Street..! we got the new lease.. and named our conditions.. and got ahold of our present landlord.. and gave him our moving out notice already.
Yes.. i will miss the big space we have in our present store.. but having visibility .. and the traffic is more important.
So yes. .wish us good luck.. as we move on to a new adventure.. and a new setup.
